January is almost over but this doesn’t mean it’s too late to start with your resolutions, for the year is just starting. There’s always a chance for new beginnings & for fresh start. Most of us are still eager to commit to our new year’s resolution and while I don’t really have one, I do have a great feeling that this year is bound to surprise me and I’m hoping it’s a good one.
I’m never really good with change (I mean who is?!) and I tend to chicken out whenever I start on something–whether it’s work related or personal. Starting on something especially when it’s unfamiliar and new is scary. It can lead to a lot of things and it can also make you feel vulnerable and uncertain of yourself. But I know at the back of my mind if I don’t do it, I would end up regretting it in the end.
So for this year, I’m willing to just start.
Coco Chanel said it best “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.”
So I started off with a new hair. Thank you Chris of Design Studio for my shorter hair & highlights! I was really tempted to go short (shorter than THIS hair) but I couldn’t take the plunge. Perhaps next year or halfway through this year? We’ll see. 🙂
Also started to eat healthier. This time no excuses na. Not just counting calories and all ha, as in meal prep levels. I even shared one of my easy peasy favorite meals to prepare HERE.
Also started on possibly one of my only two concrete goals this year–to finish a book every month. So hopefully if I keep on track, I get to read 12 books by the end of 2017. First book this year is Silver Bay by Jojo Moyes. I started reading it sometime last year but because I read multiple books at the same time, I end up forgetting about it. So now I’m changing my habit–just sticking to one book at a time. For February I don’t wanna go all out cheesy with my book selection so I’m going for Star Wars Triology instead. 🙂
Also started on dutifully doing a #nomakeup day at least once or twice a week. Kinda feels liberating to sport a bare face outside the comfort of my own home. It’s refreshing to be comfortable au naturale (something I didn’t dare do when I was younger) even though my puffy eyes & dark eyebags are obvious. I guess this has something to do with age no? Accepting who you are and your flaws.
Do you guys find it weird that I’m injecting personal thoughts on my style posts? Hahahaha. I figured I start sharing my ramblings more often and also because it’s kinda boring to talk about what I’m wearing throughout a post. Told ya this is all about starting & if I may say so, I’m surprised myself that I’m this extrovert online now. Hahaha.
Remember, tiis-ganda is optional! So on most days, go for comfort. Your body, particularly you feet will thank you for it.
Added a pop of color because a little color once in a while is good, right? 🙂 Forever favorite asymmetric skorts. I wish I’ve gotten more. Hahahuhu.
To start feeling. I mentioned on my year end post for 2016 that it was the year I felt most alive. Hopefully I get to experience that feeling again this year. While there are days that I’m on autopilot and life is happening right in front of me, I also look forward to the days when I get to really feel and live.
Here’s to more feeling & living.
