Three days ago, the first ever LEGO certified store in The Philippines finally opened. It’s located at Kidzania Building in Bonifacio Global City. The press preview of the first LEGO store in Manila was flanked by LEGO lovers. I mean, everyone who attended the grand opening do know LEGO & most likely grew up with the brand. Back when technology was far-fetched, kids and kids-at-heart get busy with their hands and were pretty much Master Builders in their own right. I admit I was pretty excited to take a sneak peek of the store. As much as I wanted to bring my lil’ GJGs and the lil’ MFOs, Tin & I decided it would be best to bring them to the store some other time, so that we can take tons of photos!
The invite came with a set of 20 blocks and we were encouraged to build anything related to EDUCATION. For every post made on Instagram with the hashtag #BrickstoClassrooms and #LegoStorePHxWV, Lego will donate P100 on our behalf to World Vision. Here’s what the lil’ GJGs and I came up with. It’s a Frozen school in Arendelle where Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf go to! 😀
So here’s what happened during the grand launch last Tuesday.
These LEGO themed food reminded me of the LEGO Sunday Brunch we had a Fairmont.
There was also a Filipino Street LEGO theme installation. Where iconic Pinoy brands and transportations are built from LEGO bricks by PHLUG (Philippine LEGO Users Group). Ang galing nila!
Did you spot the Bunnies, Astronaut, Panda, Emmet, Santa, Yoda and Superman?! 😀
Tin of Manila Fashion Observer, Rowena of Animetric, Pam of Green Lunch Diaries, Mish of Momma N’ Manila, yours truly with Ross Pesengco of LEGO PH
Pat Pasengco the man behind the LEGO Certified Store here in Manila. Congratualtions to you Pat & Ross.
Hooray for the the donations LEGO made for World Vision!
Congratulations LEGO for opening the first Certified store here in the Philippines.
R2DR also graced the grand opening.
Tin, Janice, Mish and I with the Storm Troopers.
LEGO Regional Representative (so sorry I did not get her name 🙁 ) and Danish Ambassador His Excellency Jan Top Christensen, both holding Pinoy Jeepney made from LEGO bricks.
Building station for the kids to enjoy. So much fun! If I were a child (eh kid at heart pa pala ako) I would waste my time here!
For the more serious Master Builders, LEGO store in Manila has LEGO Creator sets. They’re a bit pricey. I believe these are around P5,000 and above depending on the set.
More LEGO Creator sets. I love the vintage Volkswagen Van!
More LEGO merchandise ranging from keychains to bags.
Pick A Brick is LEGO store’s feature. You can choose among the pieces you need to complete your LEGO village or creation. Minimum of 100 grams for P679.75.
You can also build your own Mini Figure. Three figures for P499.75.
Start with the face and head followed by the body. I plan to create a GJG mini figure next time. 🙂
More brick picking happening on the other side of the store.
Awesome iconic figure keychain with LED Lite. Mabenta si Darth Vader. I’m no Star Wars fan but I think I want a Darth Vader and R2D2 LED Lite keychain.
Watching Gotham series makes me want to collect the DC Super Heroes LED Lite keychain too! Lahat na talaga AWESOME!
While others were so busy getting LEGO sets, I lined up for my LEGO brick engraving.
Shempre I chose green. I would’ve wanted the gold one but mashadong shiny, shimmering.
GJG! Lavett. Buy a brick for P179.75 and you can have it engraved for P100. Maximum of 10 characters.
Too kyoooot these Disney Princess Collections.
Lil’ Mr. GJG would loveeeee this Disney Pixar Cars set.
Thanks @rynong for the photo!
