SM Little Stars 2015

Is it just me, or do kids nowadays posses sheer confidence in sharing their talents online or otherwise? I caught my lil’ GJGs watching a video on YouTube where a girl can somersault as well as a young boy singing while playing a guitar. I, myself have taken videos of my kids dancing and doing their antics and have posted it on my Instagram.

For parents who want to encourage their children to showcase their talents, here’s a good news-SM just launched SM Little Stars 2015.

SM Little Stars is now on it’s 9th year and is bigger and brighter! This year, they’ve got a lot in store for those joining.  To kick-off this annual search for young and talented rising stars, a press conference was held at SM City North EDSA.

 DJ Show Suzuki hosted the event.

SM Little Stars is a nationwide kiddie talent competition and performance platform spearheaded by SM Supermalls to find the brightest, shining and aspiring little kids that we may dub as our “Little Stars”.

SM Little Stars has been ongoing for nine years now and since their first year back in 2007, they already established themselves as a platform wherein kids can express themselves through their God-given talents.

This kinda took me back to them time when I joined SM Model Search back in 2004. It was there that I was able to learn the basics of modeling and met wonderful people. If you ask me, joining the model search helped overcome my being painfully shy and awkward. Although I didn’t win, the SM Model Search has paved way for my career as a model.

Out of the thousands who joined SM Little Stars over the years, there are 30 talented little stars who have become movie, TV, and advertising talents.

Among these SM Little Stars are child actors Vince Angeles (SM Little Stars Batch 2012), JM Ibanez (SM Little Stars Batch 2009), commercial model Makee Dulalia (SM Little Stars Batch 2012), musician and singer Kyle Jimenez (SM Little Stars Batch 2012), and dancer Nhikzy Calma (SM Little Stars Batch 2013 Grand Winner).

Here’s Telesa De Torres, SM Little Stars 2013 3rd Runner Up singing. She was also a grand finalist for a noon time show & milk brand kiddie talent search.

Mini Michael Jackson, Nhikzy Vheench Calma is SM Little Stars 2013 (Boy) Grand Winner. He’s also the grand winner of a noon time show kiddie talent search. Now, he’s a regular performer for the noon time variety show.

As I mentioned, SM Little Stars is now bigger as SM Supermalls team up with TV5 as their media partner. Sharing the same values of enriching family lives and strengthening community relationships, SM Supermalls & TV5 are one when it comes to celebrating talents through the search of the next big Little Stars.

 Director Mac Alejandre, Jane Jimenez Basas (VP for Media5) and this year’s SM Little Stars host, Jasmine Curtis Smith.  Ms. Gelli De Belen, Mr. Audie Gemora and Ms. Alice Dixon are some of the celebrity judges for this year’s SM Little Stars 2015 Grand Finals.

SM Little Stars 2015 is open to all talented kids ages 4 to 7 years old during the Preliminary Screening schedule.

Star Quality 40%

Personality 20%

Talent 40%

For a total score of 100%

There will be five grand winners. Third runner up, second runner up, first runner up and two SM Little Stars Grand Winners (boy and girl). Aside from the promising prizes ,(cash, gift certificates, a trip to China and a scholarship grant) each grand winners will have a 1 year TV management contract with TV5. Whaaat? This year’s SM Little Stars Grand winners will become TV5 child celebrities! Aaah, I’m excited to know who they will be.
