Happy New Year everyone!
One of my goals this year is to truly discover what my personal style is. To start, I’m reading Love Style Life by Garance Dore. I’m halfway through it and one of the things I learned is to stick to basics and own the look instead of the look owning you.
So here’s a quick style post to start 2016.
I have so many black dresses. It’s like my security blanket – I whip it off from my closet whenever I don’t know what to wear. Call it a last resort or no-fail outfit but LBD should be a requirement for every woman to own.
If you’re not yet certain on what pieces you should have in your closet, you can start by having a little black dress. It can save you from over thinking on what to wear.
This particular LBD is easy to dress up or dress down. The scoop neck makes it casual yet the body-hugging form makes it evening appropriate.
Balance for me is always taken into consideration whenever I choose what to wear. Despite this dress being short, its long sleeves balanced out the look naman.
An all-black ensemble can be boring, so I wore it with a different colored pair of shoes. Again, I focus on balance and contrast.
Winged eyeliner for a more dramatic look.
The drama of this dress is on its texture. It has see-through panels which makes it more interesting when you look at it closely. I was prompted to wear a camisole dress underneath.
If you’re a shoe addict, may I suggest you choose pairs which you can wear over and over again? I’ve had this one for years and have worn it more than a dozen times already.

I have a feeling 2016 is an awesome year for everyone! I’m excited and a bit nervous at the same time to experience what 2016 has in stored for me and my family. To everyone who’s been reading this blog, thank you for making 2015 a good one, here’s to new beginnings and to a great year!

You look so gorgeous with your dress! 🙂 LDB is really a must to every girl’s closet. I so agree with that.
