“Opium den of the hopelessly fashionable” is what Harper’s Bazaar Singapore dubbed Itsie Bitsie boutique. The chic boutique located at Joya Lofts and Towers, just right across Powerplant Mall, Rockwell is all about resort wear. Their house selection focuses on resort collections, Spring-Summer fashion, holiday wear, swimwear and après-sun ensembles. Itsie Bitsie definitely fills the need of stylish and chic women suited for tropical climate like the Philippines.
My first visit at Itsie Bitsie was when I learned from Christine Dychiao that they house Alex & Ani.
Then I revisited the store soon after Ines, the owner invited Tin & I for lunch.
According to Ines, she’s been a fan of resort wear and that there are a lot of brands not readily available here in Manila. She felt the need to bring these brands to the Philippine shores for the Filipinas who want that hard to find swimsuit, or that coveted sandals.
The store was originally conceived in 2001 to cater to the affluent women of Manila who spend many weekends in their seaside homes and the top resorts of the country’s 7,100 islands. Soon enough, the company found its special niche in swimsuits that are both flattering and fashionable, sourced from an array of collections presented in the fashion capitals of the world.
All told, Itsie-bitsie was the first to introduce over 200 brands to the Philippines— both emerging and well established. Among them: Vix, Melissa Odabash, Ondademar, Manuel Canovas and Calypso St. Barth by Christianne Celle.
Itsie Bitsie is definitely a haven for all things chic and stylish. Ines travels to the United States few times in a year to research and find elusive brands that give that resort chic feel. So expect a pop of brand here and there as Itsie Bitsie caters to the evolving ways of fashion.
