I could never have too many dresses in my life. Although I try to manage and balance my closet, still dresses seem to take over. Here’s one of my favourites which I really fought (read: bid) for until the last second. Parang nakipag patintero ako kay Abe or kay Chuckie sa lupit ng bidding for this dress. You can’t blame me, its too pretty to pass up on and I’m sure you’d do the same.
Daydreaming and imagining wearing this somewhere in Europe, sipping hot coffee in a quaint cafe and just enjoying the view. When it gets a little chilly, I’d wear an equally beautiful coat to go along with it.
On a Manila setting, this is the prefect dress to wear on a joyous life event. The soft and feminine cut of the dress exudes a touch of elegance.
I actually wore this during my niece’s Christening. I got a few compliments with it which validated my decision to purchase it! I suddenly want to attend more gatherings where I need to look chic and appropriate and wear this para sulit (worth it)! Heehee.
A quick tip when attending a Christening or Dedication: a structured suit (pant suit or blazer) is something appropriate to wear if you’re not into dresses. But if you are like I am, go for your best dress. Wear your Sunday dress or anything that spells elegance and subtlety. Please avoid wearing shorts or slippers as these are definitely a no-no.
Always remember to dress depending on where you’re going. It is totally okay to be overdressed than underdressed. Not only will others appreciate your style, you’ll also feel a sense of confidence when you dress accordingly. It’s really nice to see women (and men) take it up a notch and dress appropriately when the occasion calls for it.
I so love this dress that I had worn this several times… at home.. while doing the laundry… or just hanging out. Yes, #glambahay (level up of the ordinary and usual pambahay aka clothes you wear when you’re just at home) has been my thing ever since I’ve become a domestic diva wannabe. I am just putting to good use my clothes and shoes as I don’t often go out. So when I’m feeling all sluggish and glum like chum, I whip out a pair of shoes or a fancy dress and play dress up. I know it sounds so superficial but it really helps me deal with the usual stress everyday life brings.
Yes, Coco Made Me Do It! She’s exactly correct you know. I can relate in the literal sense of it. I love shopping for pre-loved, marked down items and I think editing my wardrobe by prioritzing on investing in key pieces has helped me learn a lot about myself, particularly my personal style.
Now more than ever, I’ve become more confident with the clothes I wear and how I wear it. I no longer care if I look overdressed even when I’m just out to buy milk, nor do I care about walking 4 blocks to and from Gabbie’s school wearing a tunic as if I’m out walking by the sea shore.
My attempt at a jump shot. In fairness, it’s not easy to jump wearing a dress cinched on the waist with matching high heels. Effort sya girls!
After all that jumping, I got tired and decided to sit. 😉
Sulita Corrales this dress! 100% silk and it’s a designer brand that I got way less than its retail price. Lavett!
