Sweetness is my weakness. If you know me or follow me on my Instagram, you know that I often post this along with my sweet treat followed with the hashtag #thisiswhyiworkout ?.
If there’s one thing I love, it’s dark chocolate. I’ve given up on commercial chocolates years ago after being diagnosed with PCOS so I avoid sugar as much as I can. So alternatively I was drawn to love dark chocolate. I have found decent brands back in Manila so when we moved here in Dubai, one of the things I packed in my luggage is bars of vegan dark chocolate?.
As I was down to my last bar, I started getting stressed out thinking I won’t find anything similar to the ones I eat. Lo and behold, Instagram target ads is the answer. It’s kinda creepy that these social media apps can literally know what you want/need when you search for it online. And this is how I learned about Co Chocolat.
Co Chocolat was started by two sisters who couldn’t find truly healthy chocolates. Read their journey HERE. Long story short, their necessity bred creativity and innovation resulting to the birth of Co Chocolat.
Like a kid in a candy store, virtually I was giddy as I browse their website. For some reason I was deeply drawn to their packaging. I don’t really believe that packing ist everything because I’ve been burned one too many times by brands having such amazing packaging but the product itself is substandard. Well this is not the case for Co Chocolat. Their packaging is absolute perfection! Using mainly paper products, the typography, illustration, design is so beautiful I was almost tempted not to open my package when it arrived but my sweet tooth was already salivating ?.
My first Co Chocolat order. I’m THAT type of person who would order a bunch in one go because I have low EQ when it comes to sweets and given these are healthy treats, all the more I had to try them all. I have to say, everything I bought I ate in less than a week! These were all too good!
I’ve become an instant fan of Co Chocolat so much that I immediately purchased their monthly box subscription.
My first Co Chocolat subscription box. Basically they’ll curate a package for you based on your dietary preference. I opted for vegan chocolates as they also have dark milk chocolates that contains dairy. It’s exciting to open the box as I have no idea what kind of Co Chocolat treats were waiting for me.
And for Mother’s Day, my husband gifted me these Co Chocolat vegan Mendiants. OMG THESE WERE SO GOOD I had at least two mendicant a day! This didn’t even last until the actual Mother’s Day teehee.
Finally tried Co Chocolat’s Traditional Mayan Hot Chocolat. Made of cacao beans, cashew and chili. Yes! It’s not spicy at all but you can taste the notes of chili at the end of each sip. There’s really something about sipping hot chocolat that’s so comforting. My husband also had a Co Chocolat Hot Chocolat and he finished an entire cup by himself. He’s not a sweets kind of person but hot chocolate is something he truly enjoys and he loves Co Chocolat’s version– the texture is more refined than the classic Baguio hot chocolate that grew up with. It’s an elevated version yet proudly made with Philippine cacao!
So obvious how I’m smiling through my eyes because I’m in my element! Surrounded by treats I can actually eat and enjoy!
Congratulations Iman & Lucie on your first ever Co Chocolat store. It’s so nice to finally meet you two. Again, thank you for creating Co Chocolat! It’s something people should try especially those who love their chocolates. So excited for what’s in store for you ladies.
Finally, truly healthy chocolates by Co Chocolat. Now I have an excuse to bring my kids to Candylicious because I get to stock on my favorite Co Chocolat chocolates. Heehee.
