Manila, the heart of the Metro now has a new entertainment and shopping destination with Lucky Chinatown. It’s a lifestyle mall that offers the old charm of Binondo with a modern twist. The upscale interiors and bright lighting give you a feel of royalty and luxury.
I attended Lucky Chinatown’s grand launch last August 15,2012. Here’s what happened that day.
Cocktails and chika time for everyone.
Tim Yap & Tessa Prieto-Valdez hosted the event.
Andrew Tan of Megaworld gave a warm welcome to guests.
Dotting of the eye or Hoi Gong lead by President Noynoy Aquino.
His Excellency President Noynoy Aquino gave a short message.
Aerial performers showcased their skills.
Trivia: Binondo is the world’s oldest Chinatown. I didn’t know that! Wow.
The audience were stunned with the shadow performers showing the history and transformation of Binondo.
Then a fashion show followed featuring clothes from brands available at Lucky Chinatown.

The food junction that serves as Lucky Chinatown’s food court is located at the 4th floor that houses the following:
Big Daddy’s Chicken, Binalot, Buko Ni Frutas, Chicken Charlie, De Original Jamaican Pattie, Dimsum n’ Dumplings, Heaven’s BBQ, Hecky’s Lechon, House Of Kimchi, Potato Corner, Sizzling Seafoods, Steak Break, WanChai Tea House.
The restroom interior is very sleek & clean.
It has the signature Megaworld style don’t you think? Resembles much of the Eastwood Mall restrooms.
Here are some photos of the stores from the press kit.
Posh cinema seats!
Completing the Lucky Chinatown experience is the Chinatown Walk reviving the famed Chinatown and reliving Binondo’s old roots.
This very much reminds me of the Chinatown in Singapore while the feel of Lucky Chinatown can resemble to the posh malls in Hong Kong.
Don’t know how to go to Lucky Chinatown? Here’s a transport guide and map for you. Note that there’s a free shuttle service to and from Resorts World Manila. How cool is that?
Sharing with you all some Chinese luck.
Charms for good luck!
