I think I got my writing mojo back. The urge to write even the mundane things that happen in my life is back! And I think it has a lot to do with the way my blog looks and how I’ve been feeling lately. ?
Anyhow, I notice Instagram stories have more engagement than actual Instagram posts. Is it just me or do you like watching stories of the people you follow as well? I think it has a lot to do with seeing the no edit, real side of people no? You know when I started this blog I was kinda hesitant to share personal posts because being an introvert (an INFJ at that) I like to keep some parts as private as possible. But then again sharing bits and pieces of our lives online in this day and age has become a natural thing to do so here I am sharing some dose of mundaneness and some highlights of my weekend. ☺️
Sorry for the grainy photos. Used only my phone and most of these shots were literally just one click. ?
I went shopping for more gym clothes. LOL. Iba ang influence ni Adidas girl, Nikki! ?
Friday is usually the day in the week that I don’t cook nor do a lot of chores. I like to kick off my weekend on a good start and this is usually achieved by spending a chill night at home with my kids, having dinner out my husband or catching up with friends. So a typical Friday means spending time with any of the people I mentioned. And Last Friday I spent it with one of my favourite girls and fellow introvert herself, Nikki Torres of Pretty Darn Fit.
I met Nikki back when I was starting on blogging but we’ve only gotten closer when we became roomies in Boracay two years ago. We discovered we have a bunch of things in common so it was very natural for us to click. So every now and then we catch up, talk about random things but mostly about fitness, nutrition and wellness.
Nikki has inspired me to move more and eat better.
for our date we had matcha cookie shots and hot matcha!
But she’s not the type who would call me out when I choose to eat junk food because just like me, she believes that it’s okay to allow yourself of these things sometimes. And this little indulgences balances off working out and eating right most of the time. Some days it’s alright to rest, some days it’s alright to eat unhealthy food. ?
I never thought I’d love matcha as much as I do now. I used to veer away from anything green tea but now I even crave for it on some days! I guess my palette has changed when I started to eat better?
shared this Opera cake with my roomie. The old me would’ve ordered a slice all to myself. Hahaha!
I do believe in treating yourself once in a while. And because I have a sweet tooth, it’s just right that I get a slice of cake!
After my shopping and matcha date with Nikki, I met up with my momma friends Shari Poquiz of The Misty Mom and stylist, Bianca Santiago-Reinoso.
we’re starting a club-the mommy wine club! ? Any other mommas who want to join us? It may or may not be a weekly or bi-monthly thing!
I’ve been with Shari to two press junkets trips (one in Singapore and one in Thailand) and the first time I met her I knew we’d get along because we just feel so comfortable talking to each other, talking about anything. Same goes for Bianca. I’ve met her just last year at events we both attended. Being socially awkward, Bianca has made me feel comfortable talking to strangers! Hahaha. She’s very warm and the conversations naturally flowed and since then we’ve been messaging each other online. Most of the time Shari, Bianca and I would comment on each one’s stories about the struggles and hurdles of #realmoms and give each other boost of confidence that we’ll make it through the week, even the day! Eventually we all joked about meeting up so we can further talk more about our hugots when it comes to motherhood, homemaking and everything in between. Few weeks later and whadaaayaaaknoooow we did it!
Almost three hours of non-stop sharing of anecdotes, motherhood mishaps and everything else over a glass of wine and we still feel like we were just getting started. So much so that we’re already planning to do another one again soon! It was so refreshing to share stories with other moms who can relate, without any judgement whatsoever. I think all moms need a support group like this! ☺️
Usually I’m maxed out by 9 or 10 in the evening, even if I know it’s a Friday night and there’s no school the next day. But my best friend wanted to go out that night and it was timely too because I had to pick up Jago from the airport so we decided to go out with her.
We no Tito & Titas last Friday night!
We ended up staying until 2 in the morning (really my maxed out time!) because we had fun singing and sorta dancing along the latest songs (OMG yang si Kiki do you love meeee! Why can’t Drake keep his feelings to himself?? Hahaha!) It was fun but the Lola in me can only do this once a month. I spent almost the entire Saturday glued in bed, eating comfort food while watching Netflix. I felt drained and tired but still life was goooood! ?
So Saturday passed by like it was just a 30-minute recess or lunch break. ? Sunday was better. Woke up doing a bit chores, went to hear mass as usual and off we went to the mall to grab lunch.
Aaaand on Sundays we go out to eat.
We ended up having one of favourites–Japanese food.

I live for weekends spent with these guys.
Grabe how quickly weekends go by no?
Weekends full of errands, gatherings and even those lazy ones spent at home goes by fast! So take time to appreciate and pause. Next thing we know, BER months na. Shucks wait lang!
That’s about it. Hope you also had a good weekend and your week is off to a good start. Happy Monday! ☺️
