Let’s face it, we women have so many issues. One of which, we barely talk about is our concerns with our underarms. We dislike talking about it to our friends, our partners or even with our dermatologist simply because it’s something we’re not comfortable doing a tell-all.
We are very conscious when it comes to our underarms. I believe we Filipinas are obssessed with having white, smooth and hair-free underarms. I have been through a phase where I hated my pits. They became dark, rough and had a chicken skin appearance soon after I gave birth to lil’ Ms. GJG. I even had to do some whitening treatment for it because it simply didn’t look the same way.
I haven’t completely thought about my underarms until Dove invited me for an intimate gathering of like-minded women talking about, what else but underarms.
Dove understands that beautiful underarms are just as integral to a woman’s confidence as her face or figure, and thus must be treated with as much care as we would the rest of our skin. The underarms are an unspoken concern that most women deal with on a day-to-day basis, perhaps more than cellulite or stretch marks. In fact, 87% of Filipinas think that their underarms can be a beauty asset however, more than half rank their underarms as one of the three body parts that they are unhappiest with. Studies show that women are generally very conscious of their underarms, so much so that it affects their outfit choices, moods, actions, and ultimately their confidence.
A girl will decide her outfit for the day depending on the state of her underarms. She may either choose to wear her sexy sleeveless top on a good day or forego a night out dancing with her friends to avoid potentially exposing less-than-presentable underarms. Whether its dark armpits, or chicken skin, there are a lot of reasons for women to feel concerned about this often overlooked part of the skin – which is why Dove provides the perfect solution to put all these worries to rest.

It was lovely to hang out with the women of Dove alongside Tin & Shen. We learned from Dr. Anna that it is important to moisturize your underarms and as much as possible leave the exfoliation to the experts. Plucking, shaving and waxing underarm hair can cause damage on the skin leaving chicken skin effects and sometimes darkening and roughness. She also admittedly said that while other women don’t need to remove their almost invisible underarm hair, most women need to. But the best method of doing that is to undergo a laser or IPL treatment made by licensed doctors. This will help lessen, if not totally remove unwanted hair on your pits so no need to shave, pluck or wax as often. Thus, less chance of getting dark, rough, chicken skinned pits!
And with our underarm talk, we also learned that Dove made a blind test to women who used the three different variants of Dove deodorant. With as little as seven days, there’s a difference when it comes to texture and color. Imagine 7 days?! I was immediately intrigued and I know so are you. That’s why Dove came up with their seven day challenge.
With years of research and expertise on underarm skincare, Dove Deodorant provides specialized solutions for women’s underarm concerns by offering a range of variants which have specific product benefits. The Dove Whitening Deodorant addresses the problem of dark chicken skin in only seven days. There is also Dove Ultimate White which takes care of those stubborn dark underarm spots. And the latest addition to the line is Dove Pure, the anti-irritation variant that gives protection from sweat and keeps underarms looking beautiful.
No matter what the issue is, Dove believes that getting the conversation started is the first step towards finding the right solution to women’s underarm woes. And anyone can try and experience it for themselves!
It’s time to say goodbye to dark, chicken skin and hello to your favorite sleeveless tops. Take part in the 7-day challenge and see for yourself that achieving beautiful underarms is indeed possible with Dove!
I’m excited to try Dove’s 7-day challenge. Nako, makikita nyo up close and personal ang kili-kili ko! Abangan! Heehee.

Hi Ms. Jackie,
I’m sorry to disagree with you ha? But I tried using Dove before. But it doesn’t work for me. My skin got irritated and dark. Maybe it doesn’t apply to all. It depends on the reaction of one’s skin I suppose.

Talaga? Maybe it really depends nga on one’s skin. There’s a deo that I’m not super hiyang too because my underarms got so irritated. Still working on my review about the 7 day challenge!

Hi Ria!
It CAN help whiten one’s underarms but it would depend if “hiyang” ka to it. You may or may not see the effect immediately, again it would depend on your skin. The best thing to do is try and see if it would work on you. 🙂
