I am proud to say that I am one of the many Filipinos who support local products, be it apparel, food or even home products. What I like most about these home-grown brands is the fact that their business has helped our fellow kababayans by being a social enterprise that is proudly Pinoy made. One of the brands that I got to know was Domesticity.
You may have heard them and seen them as I tweeted a few photos of their products during my visit at the Negros Trade Fair.
Super chic products for the home they offer!
I just had to have that owl pillow. It sits perfectly in our living room no? 🙂
Their chic serving tray that I first used for a night cap drink! 😉
Domesticity was a small cottage size business started in April of 2002, and for the 11 years that we have been in operation, we not only grew as a company specializing in export-quality products made of Philippine pandan and other indigenous materials as well as products made of faux leather materials, but we have channeled our efforts in order to be the main support to all on-going programs and the beneficiaries of the Gawad Kalinga San Agustin Legacy Village in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental. As of today, the company employs 20 beneficiaries of the Gawad Kalinga Village.
Community building is an on-going process. As they say in Gawad Kalinga : ‘Walang Iwanan’. Our job is not done once GK houses have been turned over to these families. We aim to not only build good business, but to change the lives of the people behind Domesticity for the better.
Their home products are so lovely, I really want to buy them all! If only my apartment has enough space! Which makes me think that maybe I can add some shelves to put Domesticity’s weaved baskets and fill it up with trinkets and whatnots. Yes? 😀
Isn’t this set perfect for the men in our lives? 🙂
If you’re starting your Christmas shopping early, I suggest check out Domesticity’s products. They’ve got everything from home to personal use. Please someone gift me the glass cloche with the owl inside! 😉
Every product you purchase from Domesticity is definitely made with love. Supported Gawad Kalinga community gets enough health care, food on their table and education for the children. All because you bought a Domesticity weaved trash bin, basket, throw pillow or even a place mat set. It’s definitely something from the heart to the home.
