The queen of posh and black finally released a make up collection in collaboration with no less than Estée Lauder.
Since she started her own clothing brand back in 2008, there’s no stopping Posh Spice (pardon the reference, fan girl since I was a child!) in expanding her label. From clothing to accessories, now a lovely collaboration with Estée Lauder.
VB x EL is nothing short of posh! The casing and packaging is TDF! According to VB (yes, close kami heehee) she was excited to use her make up for her show this season.
Beautiful skin was the starting point of her make up collection. Clean, fresh skin. Abstract freeform geometric color. The debut of the Victoria Beckham Estée Lauder makeup collection on Beckham’s SS17 runway showcased modern simplicity juxtaposed with a clash of color.
I’ve stayed true to that with the beauty look for the SS17 show. The makeup really reflects the assured free spirit of the Ready to Wear this season, so the use of color is quite carefree and applied in bold strokes across the eyes. Overall, the look doesn’t feel too perfect or considered.” – Victoria Beckham
There are four cities that inspired Victoria Beckham to come up with her make up collection. London, Paris, New York and LA. These cities are close to her heart for they’ve become an integral part of her life.
I got to play with the limited edition Victoria Beckham Estée Lauder makeup collection through an exclusive sneak peek hosted by Estée Lauder Philippines.
Guest make up artist Lilian Yeung demonstrated a quick and easy way to do smokey eyes using of course products from the Victoria Beckham Estée Lauder makeup collection.
Smokey eyes inspired by London from where Victoria Beckham was born.
Sun-kissed glow inspired by the city of LA. Make up also by Lilian.
So here’s a rundown of Victoria Beckham Estée Lauder products
Eye Foil in Burnt Anise
This breakthrough new liquid eye foil delivers intense vinyl-like shine – even after they’ve dried. Sparkling pearl pigments add flecks of silver in this liquid metal-effect formula.
Available in:
Burnt Anise – a strong, rich, charcoal shine
Blonde Gold – a strong, blonde gold shine
Want quick smokey eyes, Eye Foil is the product you need. Intense liquid metallic effect that dries quickly so you have blend it right away. I don;t have a photo of the blond gold but that one’s perfect if you want to achieve a dewy, nude eye makeup.
Eye Ink in Black Myrrh
For intense, sooty black eyes. This pressed gel-cream formula is an innovation in eyeshadow and can be used dry or wet for an intense, editorial finish. The dense pigment delivers a deep, rich, almost black shade with a touch of pearl for a sexy look.
Soft & bendable. Bottom swatch is a single swipe while the top swatch was a blended single swipe.
Eye Kajal Duo in Black Saffron/Vanille
This double-ended pencil delivers an exceptionally soft and creamy texture. A potent black pencil (Black Saffron) and eye-opening nude (Vanille) create a sexy, smudged, edgy look. For day, line the inner lid with Vanille. For night, edge eyes in black with Black Saffron.
It’s not intended to be smudge-proof. The creamy texture actually lets one blend it easily to achieve that rugged lined look. After all, VB isn’t after a perfect make up look.
Morning Aura Illuminating Creme
Beautiful skin is the starting point of the entire collection. Morning Aura Illuminating Creme is part moisturizer, part brightening primer. Containing micro-pearls to instantly illuminate and brighten. It gives skin a fresh morning glow.
Aaah it’s probably one of the favourite products during the sneak peek. We all gushed over Morning Aura because it not only serves as an illuminating cream, it’s also part moisturizer!
Left photo was taken prior to applying Morning Aura. Right photo is with Morning Aura. See how it instantly gave me that dewy skin? You can wear it to prep your skin prior to make up application or on top of your make up to set it in. Either you, you’re sure to get that morning glow.
Highlighter in Modern Mercury
This previous limited edition Estée Lauder highlighter is back. A favorite of Victoria’s, it can be used to highlight and contour the face. Worn on cheekbones, this high shine highlighter creates that sexy sweaty skin look.
Highlighter love! One swipe is enough to highlight both my cheekbones! Ay lavett!
If you’re wondering what’s the difference between Morning Aura & Modern Mercury Highlighter, the former has a silver finish while the latter has a golden tone yet both gives that illuminating finish. Combined together and you get that LA inspired sun-kissed glow look as seen on the model pictured on the photos at the beginning of this post.
Bronzer in Java Sun
This matte bronzer is the perfect natural shade. It can be used all over for a sun-kissed look, or worn beneath the cheekbones to contour and define.
Not really a fan of matte because I have combination skin. Factor in the fact that the natural shade blends with my skin tone, this isn’t a product for me though it works great on a lighter skin tone.
Eye Metals Eyeshadow
High-shine eyeshadows deliver a precious metal finish to the eye with densely pigmented color that is strong and sexy. Wear alone or layered over Eye Ink for a high octane finish.
Available in:
Bitter Clove – a strong, blonde gold
Charred Emerald – an intense, metallic blackened green
Before and after photo. Wearing Bitter Clover blended with Charred Emerald on the side of my eyes to achieve that gradient look. Love the pigmentation, a little goes a long way!
Lipsticks
Two shades, two very different looks. Create a perfect nude polished lip with Brazilian Nude. For a bold statement, Chilean Sunset is a matte, orange-based red taken directly from Victoria Beckham’s signature sunset palette.
Available in:
Brazilian Nude – soft and natural
Chilean Sunset – bold and brig
Brazilian Nude has a bit of shimmer while the Chilean Sunset is matte.
Swatched on top is the lip pencil and below is Brazilian Nude lipstick
Lip Pencil in Victoria
Victoria’s signature nude-matte pencil. This formula imparts incredibly creamy color with the staying power of a traditional lip pencil. Meant to be worn every day to create a naturally full pout. Can be worn alone as a liner or all over the lip.
Eye Palette
Shades of rich sapphire, gold-hued nude, metallic honey, sophisticated sage, concrete grey and shimmery copper. These six powder eyeshadow shades can be applied wet or dry. Innovative dual purpose pearlized pigments have a translucency that allow these eyeshadows to reflect light and pull light into the formula for a more vibrant look.
This palette contains:
Fired Sapphire – a shocking metallic blue
Blonde Cumin – a soft, gold-hued nude
Metal Saffron – a warm, golden metallic honey
Burnished Sage – a burnt metallic intense green
Grey Amber – a smoky charcoal grey
Black Nutmeg – a shimmery copper
If you’re an eye shadow kind of gal (like Shari of The Misty Mom) you’ll definitely fall in love with the Eye Palette. I wasn’t able to swatch them but they’re pretty much the same as the Eye Metals Shadow, save that they’re less shimmery. The collection also has a lip gloss in Moroccan Heat. It’s a warm, nude lip gloss that offers high shine for a polished look. Infused with Estée Lauder’s signature fig scent, this lip gloss can be worn alone or over lipstick to give a plump and polished pout.
If you wanna score these limited edition beauties, you gotta head over to Estée Lauder SM Aura on October 8, 2016! They’re only releasing 200 pieces in total for the entire collection ladies!
