Style. It is something that is becoming more personal and diverse. I like it that more and more people are into dressing up and are more comfortable to the idea of owning their look and style. Lately, you’d often hear the words “street style” playing a huge role in the world of fashion not only for the adults but even for the little fashionistas.
What is street style?

Definitely my peg for Gabbie!
Alonso Mateo is definitely my peg for Juro! 😉
This is Gabbie and Juro when they grow a lil’ bit older. Heehee. Kids got swag!
Street style is as simple as fashion emerging from grassroots (local level) instead of the mainstream. It is literally fashion in the street where an individual deconstructs something to create a whole other thing. Or simply put, customized to fit your style personality.
I honestly like street style. I am beginning to do it myself as it has made me feel comfortable in dressing up, knowing that I own my style. Dressing up has become a stress reliver for me, so I’m very happy knowing that my darling daughter at the age of three loves dressing up as much as I do. You know, she’s very decisive when it comes to dressing up. She mostly chooses her clothes every morning before going to school and would even add on some accessories to match. I know I’m not the only mom who has kids like Gabbie, because I know kids nowadays know what they want.
Luckily for them, street style is coming to SM Kids’ Toon Fest!
“Kids have a fashion sense all their own,” says Ms. Jo Dy Juanco, Vice President of Children’s Fashion Management Corp. “SM Kids’ Fashion gives them a unique opportunity to exercise their creativity through what they wear each day.”
I cannot believe its been a year since I attend SM Kid’s Toon Fest. It basically brings in its latest range of apparel backed by some of the most well-loved cartoon characters. The SM Kids’ Fashion Toon Fest is an entertaining trade event where kids of all ages can meet and mingle with their favorite personalities and explore current trends in apparel. Favorites like Garfield, Robby Rabbit, and Barbie, among others, debut with engaging images on clothes perfect for kids to learn and play in.
Aside from an exciting selection of toon-themed clothing, booths at the affair exhibit charming attractions. There’ll be a Toon City where famous faces will be seen with various exhibits, games and merchandise for both boys and girls.
In celebration of the funky street style theme, SM Kids’ Fashion is also hosting a Dream Photo Shoot Contest. Kids can come up with their most creative take on a cosmopolitan wear for a moment in the spotlight, a personal photo session with a renowned photographer, and the chance to become the next face of SM Kids’ Fashion.
This year’s SM Kids’ Fashion Toon Fest will take place from August 30-September 1, 2013 at SM Megatrade Hall 2.
So excited to dress up my kids in SM Kids Fashion Toon Fest, ala street style! 😉
Like SM Kids’ Fashion on Facebook and follow them on Twitter and on Instagram for the latest happenings and updates.
