You know how we women tend to change bags depending on our mood or outfitey? That sometimes we do the switch & throw action? You know, you pick a bag in your closet, stuff your items in it and then throw the previous bag back in your closet or in some cases on the floor. Yeah, sounds familiar right? I do that most of the time. So my OC-ness was a tad bit lazy when it comes to time constricted scenarios. Sorry naman my dear bags. I fail at this department.
Luckily as if the universe sympathized with my bags, two weeks ago I got invited by LA Ferriols of clothing not optional (who I first met at Nivea & Mango’s Glam Express Launch event) to a sparty (spa party), specifically for bags. I was pretty much excited about it because I know I’ll learn a lot from the event, given I’m not really that knowledgable when it comes to designer bags nor do I plan to be a bag hag (not unless I get them for free! LOL). But since I now own a few pieces (hoping they mutiply! *big smile* planning on building a collection eh?!) I decided I needed to get to know my bags a little bit more specifically on how to properly take care of them.
I’ll let you in on what transpired that night. Here’s a look:
About Purse Prime
Purse Prime is your one-stop-shop Bag Care Specialist in the Philippines. Purse Prime is the Exlcusive Reseller of Loving Your Bags for Apple Brand Products in the Philippines. Based in Manila, we ship to the rest of the archipelago, fast and easy!
These two lovely ladies are the brainchildren behind Purse Prime. What got them started was their love for bags and the idea that not many women know how to take good care of their bags (I for one am guilty!). Proper cleaning, storing and conditioning of bags are what constitutes “taking good care” of them. Purse Prime don’t restore nor repair bags but rather they prevent them from being repaired or damaged. After all, “Prevention is key.” is their mission.
It was lovely to meet Michelle of MrsMartinez’s Raves and Rants! Look at her lovely Fendi!
It was also lovely to meet Angel of Lush Angel. She was with her pretty Balenciaga giant city pomegrante.
Again it was great being with Earth of Earthlingorgeous.com who is being persuaded by us to get into the dark side eeerr I mean the whole designer bag world. LOL
It was a delight to meet Jehann from Dailyfashionista. I love her bags! Especially her Chanel, she also brought with her her very first designer bag which is a Louis Vuitton monogram speedy, such a classic! Hope to see you again soon!
Meet Mewa of Love My Bags, her online site sells bag stuffers, bag base and bag dehumidifiers. She’s holding a sample of her bag stuffer for Louis Vuitton speedy 30 or 35, it can also be used for a Gucci joy medium boston bag.
Look who’s all candid! with Roanne of All The Vanity Blog. She brought along her Burberry pouch.
You can actually see the difference based on the photo, the “after” leather swatch is much more darker, color was more vibrant. I assume because of Apple Garde’s leather conditioner. As I feel the leather with my hands, the leather swatch used with Apple Garde was more supple, softer and has a silky, velvety feel, conditioned indeed.
Purse Prime also showed us how Apple Garde leather cleaner can lighten ink stains on leather. Can you see the difference?
LA doing a demo on how to clean a bag.
The trick about cleaning your bags for the first time is to test whether the chemical the product has is safe to use. To do so, apply a small amount of the product in a small area of your bag, in this case under the flap of the tag, if no color is transferred into your cleaning cloth then its safe to use on the entire bag but please be mindful letting the chemical touch the hardware. If you’re keen on not getting any unwanted chemicals on your bag’s zipper, zipper pull and other hardwares better wrap them with paper or anything to protect them.
Purse Prime is the official distributor of Apple Garde products here in the Philippines. They also carry other brands such as:
Thanks Purse Prime for the goody bag and the sparty too! Now I know that there are tons of different kinds of leather (I only know a few, LOL). Regardless, leather will forever be one of my weakness. The smell, the feel and most importantly the quality, I just couldn’t resist. I will surely fall in love more with my leather goodies, thanks to Apple Garde products!

That’s all!
P.S.
So after a week of this post being saved as draft, (so sorry for the delay) because I was super duper busy with our residential move LOL (that sounded too formal) intertwined with G still being sick (poor babe). I managed to try Apple Garde leather cleaner & conditioner to one of my bags. Lo and behold, the suppleness and shine was so evident I wanted to clean all of my other bags right after! But I wasn’t able to do so because of impending other chores. Nonetheless, I was quite satisfied and happy with the result of my first step towards taking good care of my bags! *pats self on the back*
It’s almost midweek! Yay!
