For me, mothers are the best entrepreneurs and inventors. The need to have something good or better for them and for their kids, especially something that isn’t in the market yet always creates opportunities for new brands to emerge. Such is the story of Priti NYC. The need for organic polish sprouted when ex-model Kim D’Amato was pregnant, this need led to the creation of her organic baby called Priti NYC.
Priti NYC’s mission is to support organic farmers to decrease the amount of chemicals and pollution poisoning the earth and its inhabitants- one manicure at a time. Since its launch, Priti NYC nail polish collection has expanded to include products such as soy nail polish remover, recycled glass nail file and Priti Princess polishes for children.
Now, Priti NYC is in Manila and I got first dibs on it.
My daughter and I love putting polish on our nails. It has become one of our bonding moments, from choosing a polish from our growing collection, to applying it on each other and even when we needed to remove them.
One coat of each Priti NYC on my nails.
From left: Bill Bronze Orchid, Priti Princess Witches Kiss, Priti Princess Red Riding Hood Cape, and Priti NYC Cornflower.
Priti NYC Cornflower is a solid glossy polish that is nice on the nails even with just one coating while Priti NYC Bill Bronze Orchid has a frosted glittery finish. Priti Princess polishes Red Riding Hood Cape & Witches Kiss both have glitters but the latter is more translucent and the former feels more rough when touched.
Witches Kiss on lil’ Ms. GJG’s hands. This took me about four to five coatings as she wanted the purple glitters to really stand out and look as solid as possible.
Red Riding Hood Cape on lil’ Ms. GJG’s toes.
Priti NYC Soy Nail Polish remover is currently our favourite. The lemongrass scent is just lovely, its quite addicting! Gabbie would always request to change polish using it just because it smells so good. Plus, it also doesn’t leave a dry feeling on our nails. This is perfect for those who have sensitive nails and who hates the strong smell of regular polish removers aka acetone.

How inspiring is the story of how Priti NYC was born. Who would have thought that a mother’s need to beatify herself would become a nail polish empire? Maybe someday, I’ll think of something that no one else has ever thought of and maybe then I’ll be a momprenuer too. Heehee. 😉
