This 2014, I’ve decided to amp up my look by changing my hair color. Thanks to Matrix for encouraging me to pursue and unleash my personal style when it comes to my hair. So I’m very glad to say that I am one of Matrix’s blogger correspondents! This means all my hair color treatment for the year is sponsored by Matrix Philippines. Hooraaaay!
Matrix’s mission is to encourage each one of their clients to pursue their dreams and IMAGINE ALL THEY CAN BE!
Matrix is a brand that is used in salons all over the world. Founded in 1980 by the American hairdresser, Arnie Miller, Matrix services community salons with a diverse range of haircare, color, style, and texturing products as well as unique in-salon treatments and services that provide solutions for every hair type.
While it isn’t really unsual for Filipinas to change hair colors as often as they follow the latest fashion trends, Matrix is changing the way we feel about enhancing our look through our hair color. I, for one am not really a fan of hair coloring. For the longest time, I’ve been on the dark side (for my hair that is) until I got a little bit bold enough to go and just do. Just when Matrix tapped me to be one of their correspondents, have I realized that it’s perfectly okay to change hair colors for no reason or just because you feel like it.
Last December, I had a shoot for Matrix Philippines with my fellow correspondents. The too was filled with vibrant energy as we were all excited with our makeover. It was really overwhelming to choose on what color to sport luckily, it was made easy thanks to Matrix Philippines color experts who were there to guide us in choosing the best hair color.
During the shoot for our Matrix posters, here I was with Dominique Tiu of Konichiwear. It was the first time I met her and I must say, she’s super pretty and nice!
Now with Vern of V&V blog and Elise of Matrix Philippines.
We had to deliver a few lines, twirl and be all playful with our hair. Good thing I was really happy with the way my hair color turned out so I felt really natural in front of the camera. The outtakes tell it so.
I hope to get more copies of the BTS from the Matrix team. Calling Elise, hi!
Anyway, here’s my hair color few weeks after, taken around end of January.
This was taken during my shoot for a magazine feature. (Chika ko na lang next time but I think most of you already know what it was for since I do updates over my Instagram)
A month and a half after, my roots were already showing. So I went back and had my hair colored. This time, I opted for a more darker shade.
I wanted an ash gray hair but since I had highlights, I was recommended to try ash brown instead. I really love the color of my highlights because its the ash gray color that I want! Next time, I’ll have this color.
And because I’ve been under sun a few times already since summer started, my then ash brown hair turned into some kinda ash blonde.
I love my hair color but its been exposed from the sun too much that I wanted to tone it down so that it could rest for a bit.
So when I had my hair colored two weeks ago, the hair colourist asked me if I were to go to the beach or expose my hair to the sun again. Given I’m a sun dweller, of course I said yes! The colourist then advised me to go for a darker shade as my hair color would certainly be lighter once I go under the sun to get a tan.
The result: I now sport a red brown hair.
I love it! My hair looks healthier and fresher too! My next hair color, I’m going to be bolder and have a hair color I’ve never tried before so watch out for it!
In the meantime, I’m sharing my Matrix posters.
Thank you Matrix Philippines for letting me embrace my individuality and being the tool in imaging all that I can be! Blondina kaya try ko next time? What do you guys (bait ba guys kahit na girls naman talaga ang kausap?!) think? 😀
MATRIX hair color is available at leading salons nationwide, ask for your hair colourist about it!
