It’s that time of the year again for some fun, color and Brazilian way with Havaianas! This time around, Havaianas Philippines gave Glorietta 5 Activity Center a vibe of what it feels like to party in the streets of Rio De Janeiro during last night’s media launch.
It’s my third year to attend the annual MYOH! I have posted about both my previous MYOH2012 and MYOH2013 experiences here on the blog and each year, I had tons fun unleashing my creative and indecisive side! Heehee.
Sorry medyo blurry some of the photos, my trusty G12 is on a sick leave as I need to have it confined. I couldn’t keep my hands fixed with every shot I took with my iPhone as media, online influencers, VIPS and who’s who in the industry flanked the event kaya the venue was filled with beautiful people.
The wheel of fortune este of flip flops pala! Heehee. Haaaay, choosing the perfect pair to create is like choosing the perfect nail polish. You just can’t have one color.
I initially wanted the Lake Green sole paired with a contrasting bright colored strap. But I figured since yearly, Havaianas releases a one-of-a-kind sole, parang I want to start collecting them! After all, the commemorative pairs eventually become limited editions since they won’t be available again in the coming years.
After deciding what pair to get comes another dilemma, what pins to put?! I honestly wanted to put all the pins on my pair but then I don’t think they’d all fit. So it came down to the top six pins that caught my eye.
Still, the neon soles were calling my name. Jaaackieeee, Jaccckiiiiiie, pick us! pick us! heehee.
While waiting for the program to start, we had a few minutes to spare. Since I was with the SoMoms, what better way to neutralize our anticipation and excitement than to take photos?! 😉
SoMoms Conci, Cai, Neva, Tiff and Belle with yours truly. Sabi ko yata wacky, pero solo flight lang ako! Hahaha. In fairness, no need for a monopod, keri ng kamay ko!
A parade of Brazilian colors matched with dancers and musicians kick-started the fun evening. Everybody was feeling the beat as Latin music filled Glorietta 5 Activity Center. Lakas maka-Carnivale in the the streets of Brazil. Aaah Brazil, one day I’ll see you. For now, the MYOH event is as close as I have to feel the Brazilian way of life.
Impressive Futkaleros showcased their futbol skills.
Anne Gonzales, TSA’s Managing Director encouraged everyone to enjoy, have fun and “Make Your Own Havaianas!”
Here are my pins: Monkey and Peacock symbolize the Brazilian Wildlife, Copacabana as the Brazilian beach, Sun for summer fun, and caipirinha and chill as the sips and flavours of Brazil.
Here’s Nadine my assembler in her element. Heehee. It’s Nadine’s first time to join MYOH and luckily, I was her first customer. Yay! Sabi ko sa kanya, wait, papasikatin ko sya and I’ll include her in my post. Game naman sya! Follow her on Instagram @nadinetinio 🙂
Despite it being her first time to assemble, Nadine managed to do a good job and finished my pair in under 30 minutes! Winner. Thank you so much Nadine! I hope you had fun assembling my pair as much as I had fun choosing it!
SAMBA School Imperatriz Filipinense played catchy Latino beats.
While I was in line at checkout, I noticed there’s a booth where you can go and have your selfie moment taken. I actually did have my selfie moment. The guy manning the booth said, it gets uploaded online. I tried searching for it but couldn’t find my selfie. If you see it please tag me! 😀
This year, check out was a breeze! It only took less than five minutes for me to check out and the lines were kept short and orderly.
Check, check, check!
After checkout, I spotted a few blogger friends.

Because everyone was really busy concentrating on creating their desired pair, I wasn’t able to say hi to all of them. Walang ng hi, wala pang photo! Sana next time I have my personal photographer na para snap, snap, snap away lang ng photos with everybody! Calling my personal stylist and friendship Kelly! I missed you at the MYOH launch! 🙁
Anyway, here’s my MYOH2014 pair.
And for every Havaianas commemorative pair you get, you will also receive a complimentary bonfim wish ribbon.
Bonfim Wish Ribbons is a Brazilian tradition for good luck. For every knot you tie, you make a wish.
Love my #MYOH2014 pair!
