Introducing MyBRO Wireless Home Broadband

In this day and age having an Internet connection is part of almost every household. I remember when we moved to our apartment nine months ago, the first thing I immediately processed was an Internet connection. I went to the nearest PLDT center, applied for a broadband connection, the day after it got installed. It was the first thing I did even before the remodeling of our unit was finished.

Evidently, I am a self-confessed Internet junkie  avid user of the Internet. On a regular basis I  am online 20 hours a day at least 5 days a week, so it really pays to have a stable, fast and reliable Internet connection. The aspiring chef in me rely on Google for easy to cook recipes that I can prepare for my family while the frugal fashionista in me loves Ebay so much that having a stable and fast connection are very crucial in winning every item I bid on. And now that I have become a budding blogger and a social media practitioner, having a strong Internet connection is definitely a necessity to keep me available to communicate and stay updated with the people and community that inspire me to be a better person and also an influencer in my own circle.

Today, PLDT is launching their new home wireless broadband connection called myBRO. Smart BRO Canopy and Wimax will now be the new My BRO Wireless Home. It is a reliable internet service that uses the nationwide cellular network of Smart to wirelessly deliver internet service to a subscriber’s PC.

 You might be wondering what’s the difference between Smart Bro and My BRO? Well, Smart Bro is the former brand of all the broadband services of Smart which includes Mobile Broadband services of Smart, which are Plug-it, Pocket Wifi, etc. and Fixed Broadband which are Bro Canopy and Wimax. Today, the Fixed Wireless variants – Canopy and Wimax – will now have a new brand name under My Bro.  This is now included under the HOME megabrand powered by PLDT and Smart. I’m currently subscribed under PLDT DSL plan 990.

Lock-in period of 24 months

Anyone who is interested to be a subscriber of a myBRO plan can apply via Smart Stores or PLDT Business Offices nationwide, or through any accredited Smart or PLDT sales agents. Do take note on the system requirements as listed below.

The subscriber’s system requirements are:

  • Pentium III or higher for Windows, Mac OS for Apple
  • 512 MB of RAM or higher
  • Ethernet/LAN Card
  • At least 10GB of Hard Disk Space, USB 2.0

The application requirements are:

  • Proof of Identification

    naginquire ako regarding sa 499 plan which is the back to school promo..
    499 will appear on your bill for the first 2 months..after that you will be charge 999 until the end of your contract.

    ako bayad na hanggang nagayon ang bagal ng net at nawawala pa ang net ng smartbro…kala ko ba mabilis ah….kainis na hndi magamit ng maayos …bagal tapos nawawala…..bayad na ako !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ahuhu hindi ko na kukuha yong desired speed wala pang week ang hina na ng service hindi ako maka pag download ng mga movies/gaming especially pag mag hohost ako ayos nyo na ang speed ng net ko or rerefund ko yong binayad ko nag bayayad kam ng maayos tapos crapy service

    Thank you for the info. I applied online yesterday and someone called me using a “SUN mobile number”… ( which is a little weird ) I couldn’t talk to the agent because he called during my class. I’ll just decline my online application and I’ll just personally go to one of the nearest Smart Wireless Center. Thank you and God bless. ^_^

    hey can it give a stable connection for online gaming? i have applied for pldt my dsl plan999 but its almost never gonna happen its already 1month after i have applied and they just give me a bundle of promises so can MyBro give stable performance for online gaming do you have any experience on playing online with it?…

    ung internet ko napaka bagal mybro gamit ko buti kung ma
    bagal lang lagi talaga wala pumunta na ako sa smart megamall at pinalitan ko ng canopy at lahat na hiningi na requirements binigay ko at after 2 weeks daw ayosin nila pero hanggang ngayon wala pang nag ayos o pumunta man lang sa bahay nagsawa na ako sa kaka follow up kc last october pa un 2013., e sabi ko ipaputol ko nalang e d daw pwede kc may contrata, e ganun na lang ba un?

    almost 1 month na po na wla po kaming connection sa smartbro canopy namin. it happens after ng typhoon glenda. and called the number 6727277 para pacheck always operator lang sumasagot for almost a month din … saan office ako pwede pumunta para macheck ang connection namin… what addres po ba? i’m from taguig.. and my reference number is 1011167647.

    I would like to inquire with myBRO plan 799.. We are living in Makato, Aklan in a village with out any line from PLDT or any telecommunication company lines.
    At the moment we are using mobile with the internet using globe sim card but we are facing bad signal every time we had a chat at home.
    So if you could give us more information and full details with your product it would be great.
