Hello 2012, Hello Beautiful!

Happy New Year Everyone! (for the nth time, I know) and I guess I will keep on saying this until Chinese New Year comes which is on the 23rd of January so please bear with me *smiles* If you’ve been following me on Twitter then you’d probably know the setbacks that happened during our Singapore trip (will tell you more about it on a separate post). For now, I want to share with you all my annual tradition that hopefully will inspire you to do the same or at least make you think about creating your own.

Every year, I select a word that I associate with the New Year, last year’s word was PASSION. Thankfully enough, I was able to incorporate passion in my life. Passion was evident with me being a hands on stay at home mom and with the utter focus I’ve dedicated on my blog. For this year my word is BEAUTIFUL.

A lot has happened at the start of the year and most of them I can describe to as being beautiful things. You know the saying “nothing happens by accident” is rather true in my case, so instead of seeing unexpected situations and setbacks as the glass being half empty, I chose to see it as half full. With that being said, I realize my mantra for the year is all about beautifying things. I’ve come to this realization based on the formula I’ve been following every New Year.

BELIEVE + VISUALIZE + DO IT=  GREAT WAY TO START THE YEAR.

This year I plan to do things beautifully. How? By taking time, putting effort, saying no to mediocrity and of course seeing the lighter side of things making it “beautiful”. I feel like I’ve been slacking off just because I have the time on my hands to do things when I can and when I feel like doing them. I also feel like I’ve been dwelling on the sad side of the story more than celebrating on the happy ending, this year is the end of it.

This time around, I will unleash the OCness in me. Since I’m expecting another child in eight and a half month’s time, I should really be sticking to a schedule. And as much as I hate routine, I must admit I need one and I have to follow one in order to make things manageable, doable and of course beautiful.

Now to kick off my mantra for 2012, I’ll start off by being beautiful in my own way. It has been my tradition to do a makeover for each New Year, and it is also becoming a tradition that I cut my hair short while I’m pregnant. Aside from the fact that I have falling hair (a lot that if collected you can actually make a wig out of it!) I believe wearing short hair will help the baby absorb more nutrients. Makeovers always make me feel beautiful don’t you? So wait as I have my hair chopped off this weekend. (more of that on another post of course)
