Last Thursday, I witnessed the launching of BPI and Globe’s limited edition commemorative Tattoo stick held at Mary Grace Cafe in Greenbelt 2. This is in celebration of the Bank of Philippine Islands’ (BPI) 160th anniversary, it is the first and only co-branded internet broadband stick that allows access to various BPI websites without the need for a prepaid load.
For someone like me who is online almost 18 hours a day, I need to have a reliable broadband stick that I can use on the go or even when I’m at home and my DSL connection fails me. You see, I am one of the many netizens who eats, breathes and lives having to be online everyday even for just a good five minutes to check emails, update my Facebook status, tweet a quote or even just let the other netizens know that I’m still alive and kicking. And so sometimes, I feel that making an effort to do errands that require falling in line such as going to the bank and paying tons of bills is a waste of time, but you know someone has to do it! *points to self*
Finding time to do bank errands is hard especially for a full time hands on mom like me and I honestly feel that I can do so much more in a span of an hour going there and cuing for my turn. Thankfully I am very lucky that in this day and age, online banking is readily available making my life way easier and more convenient.
So when I learned about Globe’s tie-up with BPI (which is incidentally one of my banks) I was excited to know more about its key features. Here’s a look at what transpired that lovely night.
“Because more people are on the go, bank errands are taken for granted. With the unique and innovative BPI Tattoo sticks, you can easily manage your bank account and investments anytime, anywhere even if your Tattoo stick has no more load,” said Dong Ronquillo, Head for Nomadic Broadband of Globe.
This is the second year Globe has tied up with BPI for the first co-branded Globe-BPI mobile broadband stick, the BPI 24/7 Tattoo stick which basically bears the same features of the Tattoo BPI 160th anniversary stick was launched last year.
“The strong partnership with Globe has enabled us to provide solutions to clients which go beyond banking. With the BPI 160th Commemorative sticks, our mutual customers can avail of Tattoo broadband sticks at an affordable price, while giving them the convenience to go online anytime,” said Anj Mirasol, Head of BPI Electronic Channels Marketing Department.
Here are four reasons why I like the Globe-BPI 160th Commemorative Tattoo Broadband stick:
1. It’s affordable. As a special promotional offer, each stick is sold for only P835 (around $20) which I think is by far the cheapest broadband stick to date.
2. Buy it online. And because Globe and BPI don’t want the inconvenience, you can buy this Tattoo stick online at www.mybpi160.com and it can be delivered nationwide for FREE.
3. Free surfing. Yes, you can access any BPI websites even if your Globe BPI Tattoo stick has zero balance. It is so convenient that you get to pay your bills, check you account status and even monitor your stocks on the go.
4. Easy reloading. To further prove that Globe and BPI understands us netizens and the importance of going online reloading your Tattoo stick is as easy as well, going online. There are lots of ways to reload, you can reload via BPI Express Online, Express Phone, Express Mobile, even via Express ATM machines or through Globe prepaid cars, AutoloadMAX, Share-a-load (if you have generous friends *winks*) and via GCash.
Keep in mind that this broadband stick is limited and that it is only available until December 31, 2011. Its a perfect gift as well for your loved ones this Christmas, you can order online (via www.mybpi160.com) and have it delivered directly to them but there is a maximum of 10 Tattoo sticks per person per day. Once its used and have zero balance, the validity of the sim card of your Tattoo stick is good for six months otherwise it will no longer be applicable for use. Also once the sim that comes with your Tattoo stick is lost or becomes invalid after six months, you cannot have it replaced though for they don’t sell individual sims for the broadband sticks but the good news is you can transfer the sim on your mobile phone and browse through any BPI websites for free. Now for those who are wondering if until when they can use their Globe-BPI 160th edition Tattoo stick to surf on any BPI websites for free, well you can do so until December 31,2012.
It was such a pleasant experience meeting NFF (new found friends) and luckily I met a handful. Meet Rochelle of HeaRty’s Haven, Jane of The Philippine Beat, Faith of Tanggera and Alvin of Cheftonio’s Blog. These lovely people and I were seat mates and not to mention dessert mates as well. Indeed the night was even lovelier chatting with you all, it felt as if I’ve known you all for quite some time by the way we all spontaneously talked about anything. Hoping to see you all again soon!
And it was lovely finally meeting Jane who happens to be my neighbor and Twitter buddy!
Thanks Globe & BPI for my very own BPI 160th Tattoo stick! Wooot!
Watch out, I’m giving away one (1) BPI 160th Tattoo stick to one of my lucky readers so stay tuned. In the meantime like Go! Jackie Go‘s Facebook page to get updated.
That’s all!
Happy Weekend Everyone!
