For most of us who welcomed the new year, we’re all probably just taking it easy on the first day of the year. I myself slept through the day and just got out of bed to eat. Tired from the celebration yes but ironically I have enough energy to write my first ever post for 2019.
It’s usually the time of the year where we’re all excited to plan for the remaining 364 days and set goals. While this is something I’ve been fondly doing over the years. This year I just wanna take it easy.
But we all know it isn’t. All the rubbish & stressors that challenge us eventually makes us better. And I’ve come to realise that no matter how much we wish nor even plan for our lives to be always happy & calm, it can’t. The days that pushes us to test our strength is exactly what we needed to move further from who we once were and lead us directly to who we are meant to be.
I wouldn’t be listing down specific goals but rather focus on ideas that are action-centered which I honestly think is more plausible.
To harness courage, have discipline, be more patient, & value time in the sense of knowing when to slow down and actually enjoying it.
It think being able to achieve these is harder than setting concrete goals. This would entail being more mindful with every decision and action I make–if they would all lead to the values & traits I long to have in 2019.
I’ll share with you all some of the things I plan to do to help me get through my goals this year. But in the meantime, I’m leaving with you this quote.
For all of you who are pressured to list down goals or write down new year’s resolution, here’s a reminder I use as an anchor to not lead me astray.
Here’s to 2019! May it be challenging yet fulfilling enough for all of us to be grateful for.
