I’ve been running on a few hours of sleep since Monday. With the suspension of classes that day and my lil’ Ms. JG sleeping on our bed–because according to her, reviewing for her exams didn’t give her enough energy to go back to their room and climb her bunk bed, cute yet lame excuse but still I took it!– two nights in a row all, I find myself waking up tired and I can feel how heavy my eyes are.
Though I can muster enough energy to go about my day–thank you coffee!–my eyes really give away the fact that I didn’t get enough good sleep. Try as I may, my lids are always the first to show my tiredness followed by my skin. Is it just me or do you also get a bump (a brewing pimple) or dull looking skin whenever you get only 3-4 hours of sleep? I know I do. Thankfully, it’s easy now to fake that inner glow with the right make up.
Pa-fresh even if I only had 4 hours of sleep (hello eye bags!). My eyes were swollen from lack of sleep & allergic rhinitis so I had to do a make up that would make me look like I slept like a baby for 8 hours. I’m no make up expert and my technique is very basic but thankfully, with the right tools I was able to get achieve that glowing look.
clockwise: Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder in Sunset Glow, Banilla Co So Strobing Pen, Laneige Two Tone Shadow Bar in Golden Rose, Happy Skin Eye Am The One Mascara, K-Palette Real Lasting Eye Pencil, and Benefit Ka-Brow Gel
I started off by applying Laneige BB Cushion as my base and set it with MAC Studio FX powder in NC40. Then I applied Banilla Co So Strobing Pen–which contains ruby and diamond powder that gives that highlighted glow–on the top of the cheekbones, top of the brow, centre of the forehead, bridge of the nose and brow bone. It comes in stick form but I prefer to use the pen since I’m not doing heavy highlighting naman. To give color and more glow to my face, I dusted Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder in Sunset Glow on my cheeks. It is love! The powder not only works as a highlighter but as a blush too. I love how it gives that fresh look. Next I did my brows with Benefit Ka-Brow Gel shade 4, then I used Laneige Two Tone Shadow Bar in Golden Rose on my eyelids–it has a shimmery effect which adds to that glowing look–before applying K-Palette Real Lasting Eye Pencil in Natural Brown for a soft and natural look. The new eye pencil is easy to apply & glides smoothly–something that I really look for in an eye pencil. I curled my lashes and put Happy Skin Eye Am The One Mascara and finished off with a swipe of Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Tulle which gives that natural pinkish color on my lips.
Not photo ready but medyo deadmabelles na kasi my face is glowing naman. Heehee. 😉
