It’s been a while since I did a review here on the blog. Being in quarantine for almost 5 months has given me time to take it slow. It has prompted me to do things I like but have not gotten around doing it. Like read a book, play a video game, or as simple as be consistent when it comes to my skin care.
Skin care routine for me always has to be quick and easy. I’m that no-fuss-kinda girl that appreciates products that get the job done in as little time as possible. After all, I only get a few minutes all to myself before little hands start knocking on my bathroom door looking for someone called Mom. Heehee.
So allow me to gush over my newest skin care gadget, the Foreo UFO!
I’m obsessed with my Foreo UFO! It’s a smart mask device that let’s you experience masking in just 90 seconds. Confession: I used to skip mask treatments because I feel the traditional mask requires me to have a few minutes of down time. You know that magical moment before going to bed to sleep which is so rare for this mama, so most days there’s no mask treatment for me. And with everyone at home, all the more I need my skin care routine quick. So discovering Foreo UFO was such a delight and a game changer for me.
WHAT IS FOREO UFO?
Foreo UFO is a smart mask device offers the following hyper-infusion technology:
LED Light Therapy
It’s more than just a mask treatment. Foreo UFO’s Hyper-Infusion Technology uses your skin’s natural reactions to heat and cold as well as signature T-Sonic pulsations to ensure you get the most out of every mask treatment.https://www.foreo.com/ufo
HOW TO USE:
DOWNLOAD FOREO APP
First download the Foreo app so you can pair and register your device. Pairing your UFO device via Bluetooth is easy. Just hold the on/off button for a few seconds and once its linked, it’ll appear on the app.
CHOOSE YOUR MASK
Once your device is connected, it’ll ask you to choose what mask you’ll use. There’s a preloaded morning and night mask option but you can scan your preferred UFO-Activated mask.
The first Korean-formulated UFO-Activated mask I tried was the Matte Maniac. Infused with charcoal to help minimize pores & rid of skin’s excess sebum and diminishes appearance of imperfections.
The combination of cryo-theraphy and blue LED light helps draw out impurities–this is the default setting of Matte Maniac mask. Other masks uses other LED lights and temperature can be warm or cool. This is because each mask is made to address different skin concerns.
Blue light is used to eliminate bacteria found in the oil glands of the skin which causes acne. Ever since I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS, my skin has had its fair share of breakouts. It’s either I’d get cystic acne or tiny bumps. All the more I fell in love with my UFO!
ENJOY 90 SECONDS OF FULL-SPECTRUM FACIAL TREATMENT
The combination of T-Sonic™ Pulsations, LED Light Therapy, Thermo/Cryo-Theraphy plus the Korean-formula mask makes the UFO a full-spectrum facial treatment. I like that I’m not stuck with one treatment, one mask because there’s a handful of treatment option based on what my skin currently needs. This reminds me of the time I traveled to somewhere a bit cold then had to go straight to somewhere warm. If I had the Foreo UFO then, I wouldn’t have lugged around a lot of skin care products as I could just bring different masks that I can use depending on my skin’s condition while traveling.
I’ve been using my UFO daily for three weeks now. And I’ve got nothing but love for it. Battery life has lasted for more than two weeks of daily use (I only charged it once since I got it). I also purchased two other mask variants to try– Coconut Oil & Green Tea. I haven’t tried the Coconut Oil but I’ve tried the Green Tea. The latter uses a mix of blue, green and purple LED light and thermo & cyro-therapy. I like how refreshed my skin feels after using this mask.
PRO TIP: USE THE APP AS REMOTE
The only downside of UFO is that it requires the user to scan the mask every use. Even if you’ve already used the mask before, it would again ask for you to scan the barcode. So I try to do a work around on this but then I discovered that I can use the app as a remote control!
I can use my UFO without having to scan/use a mask by manually choosing what LED light, temperature and T-Sonic pulsation level I want. So tried doing exactly this and used the leftover mask serum in the packet. I put it on the UFO (the metal plate with the FOREO logo), chose blue LED light and cool temperature with level 5 T-Sonic Pulsations and I instantly had another lovely 90 second masking time! So I assume I can use other mask serums on my UFO using this manual setting. Yay!
I’m so happy Fore UFO has LED light therapy, cryo/thermal and it’s trademark T-Sonic Pulsations because I don’t need to use another device to get these treatments. The first thing I felt since I started using Foreo UFO is that my skin is softer and became supple. It’s not as dull as it looks and imperfections aren’t as obvious. Using the Matte Maniac and Green Tea masks has helped me manage my breakouts (I still get it from time to time–blaming my hormones for it). Happy to report I’ve added masking as an essential step to my nighttime skin care routine because of my Foreo UFO. 90 seconds of masking with it has lead to lightened blemishes and better skin composition. I’d recommend this device to those who want to add mask in their skin care routine but want it easy & fast.
Foreo UFO retails for Php 16,320. It is available at Sephora.ph.
