I know I said I’ll be doing a monthly round up of the recent products I’ve discovered but most of the time I end up using it immediately because I’m excited like that. LOL. So now before I try products I make sure to take their photos first so I can easily feature them here on the blog if I want to. *must take note of this and by note I mean not just mental note because my mommy brain in scattered all over the place* LOL
Not ending September without my five faves!
Kiehl’s Calendula Toner, Marula Oil, Tony Moly Ferment Snail Cleanser, Beach Born Lip Balm, Priva 2-in-1 Feminine Wash
Priva 2-in-1 Feminine Wash, Php 140
Available at leading supermarket, department stores and drugstores
Having the right feminine wash is as essential as having the right facial wash. Like shampoos and lotions, I like me using different products alternately and currently Priva is my choice. It has a cooling sensation that’s perfect for hot days and active individuals. Can’t really say its lightening and firming effect as I’ve only been using it for a few weeks.
Tony Moly Timeless Ferment Snail Foam Cleanser, Php 778
Available at all Tony Moly stores
I never thought I’d be applying snail on my face up until I discovered Tony Moly’s snail line. There’s such a thing as snail facial back in the day would you believe? Now technology has adapted the use of snail and thankfully Tony Moly has a snail line that allows me to get its benefits without actually having to use snails! Heehee. Snail extracts are packed with nutrients that can do wonder to the skin.
I like that a pea-size is enough to lather on my entire face. It doesn’t give that squeaky-clean feeling yet it does it job of cleansing. Best part? It leaves my skin looking bright and feeling clean.
Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner Php 2, 425
Available at all Kiehl’s stores
I never knew the importance of a toner until I experienced dry, dull and dirty skin. Kiel’s Calendula Herbal Extract Toner is alcohol-free and contains corn mint oil, which provides a cooling, tingling sensation that refreshes skin. It also balances the skin’s natural oil and removes any remaining cleanser residue, dirt and debris. I like that it doesn’t sting (though it’s something that I’ve used to) yet surprisingly it gets the job done. Recommended for normal to dry or normal to oily skin types.
Marula Pure Facial Oil, Php 2,980
Available at all SM Beauty stores
Move over argan oil, there’s a new oil in town. Everyone meet marula oil. Ever since I discovered Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery, I realized my skin reacts well to oil-based products. Since I have combination (more like dry) skin, I love using different moisturizers. My newest discovery is this Pure Marula Oil. It is completely free of preservatives, synthetics and parabens. It is made from 99% marula oil that provides superior and longer lasting hydration for your skin and 1% blend of natural essential oils that give a light and natural scent.
It has 60% more antioxidants than Argan Oil and is more powerful in fighting free radicals that cause pre-mature skin aging. Its high content of fatty acids like Omega 6 & 9 also makes for a superior anti-aging treatment that plump up skin to help reduce the appearance of fine lines. I’ve tried it on my reddish skin (because I forgot my sunblock huhuhuhuhu) after a weekend out of town with friends and it helped sooth my red, irritated skin. I like that it’s lightweight and surprisingly is non-greasy. 2 drops of it covers my entire face and décolletage. If you have dry skin or are planning to travel somewhere cold, this may be the only moisturizing and anti-aging product you’ll need.
Beach Born Bam Balm, Php 168
Available online at www.beautymnl.com, NAVA boutique in Shopsville Greenhills, Poshmark Timog Avenue, or order directly at Beach Born, Viber 09271272330
It’s no surprise for someone who loves lipstick to have chappy, dry lips. Well, even before I knew how to apply lipstick, I’ve had chappy lips na. My mom says it’s because I lack water and needs to be hydrated. While I try to work on hydrating, I also rely on lip balms to get me by.
Every night before I go to bed, I apply lip balm on my lips. My recent discovery is this locally made brand Beach Born. Beach Born’s Bam Balm is an all-natural lip balm that gently exfoliates (spot the oatmeal pieces) the lips while moisturizing it. The minty effect is a bonus especially after a long day of wearing lipstick. It’s definitely the break my lips need. Did I mention it’s edible? Yum!
Got any new beauty discovery? Let me know because I wanna try it also! Heehee. Gathering new five favourites for next month’s post!
