Dressing up is something I like doing. It’s my way of expressing how I feel without really having to talk because believe it or not I am painfully shy. I’ve had my fair share of fashion faux pas which is why I’m more discerning now when it comes to shopping for clothes. While there are a lot of options now more than ever and trends are constantly changing, I’d like to stick to pieces that compliment my body and make me feel confident in my own skin.
On most days I dress up casually. Comfortably casual to be exact. Since I have two very active kids I need to make sure I dress appropriately when I’m with them–no no to wardrobe boo boos and I make sure I wear a comfy pair of shoes.
And because I like dressing up, there will always be days that I’ll really plan on what to wear. Jumpsuits are always a no brainer. It instantly makes one look decent.
I’ve always had a thing for basics simply because they’re the easiest to mix and match. Over time i’ve learned what works for me and what I want which is why my closet is mainly made up of black, white, gray, and navy blue clothes. If you’ve been reading this blog for sometime now you know that I’m all practical yet I am also the kind of girl who goes for quality over quantity. Why is that so? Clothes that are well-made tend to last longer. While this is my mindset when it comes to shopping for clothes, I also believe that clothes that are taken care of properly would last longer–years, even decades and eventually can be passed on as vintage.
You’ve probably seen me wear this skorts one too many times as well as the black turtle neck top. The secret to making it look newer for longer? Caring for them properly. It pays to use the right laundry detergent and fabric conditioner for your clothes and it also pays to use a washing machine that can really clean and at the same time is smart to know how to wash your clothes.
Half of my wardrobe is made up of delicate clothes that are best cleaned through hand wash. I admit while I really value my clothes, I’m not that crazy over hand washing. Thankfully I don’ need to resort to that because I’ve got Electrolux Washing Machine to do this job for me.
We’ve had our Electrolux front load washing machine and dryer for almost a decade now–7 years to be exact. And it has greatly helped us in keeping the color, structure of our clothes newer longer. Thinking of upgrading our front load washer with Electorlux lastest model just because it’s smarter than ever–you know you’re adulating when appliance is on top of your wish list!
I don’t own a lot of clothes–and every now and the, I let go of the pieces that no longer serve me to make room for new ones–and I like keeping the ones that best translates my personality or at the very least describes my mood. Thankfully with Electrolux, I get to use and abuse my favorite pieces & help me make them look #newerforlonger 😉
“Clothing has a certain power to it. It’s our modern day armour.” Rajo Laurel couldn’t have said it best and as a well-known designer I anchor on his saying. I guess I’ll never stop dressing up as long as I feel like it gives me the power to be who I am.
