Living in a tropical country like the Philippines, I’ve always expected my skin condition to be dry. More often than not, I blame the hot, humid weather for this. While I am a sun dweller, I dislike the effect of sun exposure on my skin as summer time makes my skin twice as dry as it already is. Little did I know that summer heat isn’t the one and only culprit of dry skin. Did you know that air-conditioner is also known as a factor when it comes to having dry skin? Staying in an air-conditioned room for hours has almost the same effect as being exposed to the summer heat in contributing to one’s dry skin.
With long and extended hours spent inside air-conditioned rooms, our skin requires longer-lasting moisture to combat the drying effects of air-conditioner. So that’s why I have dry skin. Not only because I love being under the sun, but I also love staying inside our room with the AC on full blast while my children & I cool off especially when the summer heat gets too intolerable for us to bear. These two factors have greatly affected my skin condition over time. And sadly, ordinary beauty soaps can’t provide long-lasting moisture for my skin.
Cosmo.PH asked 390 women on what they think is the culprit of dry skin. 57% voted that the biggest contribution to dry skin is either the summer heat or the overwhelming pollution they battle on their way to and from work. While 43% figured the element they’re talking about is the ever present AC.
I know I’m not the only one who is obsessed with moisturizing products. Lucky for us, there’s something new from Olay that’ll help us with our dry skin concerns.
The new Olay Moisture Body Wash Outlast Collection can protect us from the torturous, drying effects of prolonged exposure to AC. It provides deep moisture that lasts up to 24 hours. It had me at 24 hours! I’ll share my thoughts on the newest Olay Body Wash on a separate post as I’ve started using them already.
Meanwhile, Olay is inviting everyone to swap your non-P&G bar soaps for new Olay Moisture Outlast Body Wash 200ml on March 28, 2015 at Robinsons Place Manila, Midtown Atrium. Go join me and other women as we get to experience #MoistureThatLasts by Olay. See you there!
