We didn’t plan any travel this Christmas because we wanted our holidays to be stress-free and steady (yes, traveling with two small kids requires more energy and effort and can be stressful) but we managed to squeeze in our last staycation for the year.
Where else to stay than at a hotel where shopping and dining are very much accessible, right? So off we went to Holiday Inn Makati.
First time to stay at Holiday Inn Makati. It’s a cozy inn & suites that offers hospitality and comfort, you can say it’s a home away from home.
Aaaah, the hotel bed! The thing I look forward to most when staycationing, aside from breakfast buffet that is.
Nothing like having a good night’s sleep while you’re staycationing. I have to hand it to Holiday Inn Makati for having one of the best hotel beds I’ve slept on. They also have two kinds of pillows – soft and firm – that lets you sleep comfortably.
My not so little girl got first dibs on the executive table as she practice her writing skills.
The bed weather and comfy bed make cuddling and cozying at Holiday Inn just perfect.
After settling in, we went around to check out the facilities. It has the usual gym, pool, spa, function rooms and restaurant.
The thing my kids look forward to the most during staycation is swimming.
Holiday Inn Makati’s roof deck has just the right size of pool that can let one do laps, have a drink or two on their sun deck or bathe under the sun on the sun beds.
Makati view.
My JGs enjoy swimming as much as I enjoy sun bathing!
Holiday Inn’s lounge sits in the middle of the open area and Flavors restaurant.
A pocket play area sits right under the staircase that leads to the mezzanine where the function rooms and meeting rooms are.
And because Glorietta is adjacent to Holiday Inn, we did a little last minute shopping. But first, mirror selfie and coffee. 😀
There’s really nothing to do but eat, swim, cuddle and repeat!
My kids really love doing staycations. My 3 year old son refers to it as another home. While my 5 year old daughter gets excited with the pool and the breakfast buffet. They actually prefer staycations more than toys, would you believe that?
We turned in early that Saturday night – watched a movie & cuddled – because we had a full day ahead of us.
The next morning, my lil’ Mr. JG woke up early. Here he is trying out his Achi’s glasses (don’t worry, he only had it a few seconds, so I took the chance to snap away!) as he enjoys being shirtless, while waiting for everyone to fix up.
Now the moment I’ve been waiting for – breakfast buffet time!
I wasn’t able to take tons of photos of the food, but to give you an idea, they have the usual breakfast – American or Filipino food, Japanese station for sushi, bread and beverage stations, cereal and fruit stations, egg and noodle stations, plus my favorite of all the stations – taho!
My favourites from breakfast are the pastries, waffle, congee, cheese spread, and bacon!
The Christmas vignette right outside Flavors restaurant was a hit among the kids and kids at heart!
Happy Holidays from the lil’ JGs from Holiday Inn! 😀
As I mentioned, we had a full day ahead that day because we had our family portrait taken. You can check out the candid photos shot by Oak St. Studio HERE.
Last #MakatiStaycation for the year. I can’t believe there’s only 3 days left of 2015!
