Went all the day to U.P. Town last weekend just to try Cafe Shibuya! I saw they’ll be opening at SM Megamall (building A right in front of Forever 21 where Figaro used to be) but it’s not anytime soon. So we traveled up north to try it. Grabe the last time I was in UP Town was back in 2014!
Since it was our first time at Cafe Shibuya we ordered more than our usual.
SPAM MUSUBI, Php 295
Premium cut spam sandwiched between Japanese rice, wrapped with nori and deep fried to perfection. Served with spicy mayo.
One or two pieces of Spam Musubi is enough to get your tummy ready for the main dish. It’s filling so don’t eat everything so you won’t spoil your dinner.
KANI MANGO SALAD, Php 195
Kani and cucumber strips, mango cubes and greens drizzled with Japanese mayo.
Classic Kani Mango salad. Need I say more?
SHIBUYA BENEDICT, Php 255
Farmers ham, deep-fried poached egg, shake mushrooms, and housemade Japanese mayo cream sauce
I would’ve enjoyed this dish during breakfast. It’s filling, creamy and savoury.
PASTA ALLA CARBONARA, Php 445
Creamy pasta carbonara good for sharing and comes with two poached eggs. We had it separated so as not to run the yolk all over the pasta just in case my kids won’t finish it.
THREE CHEESE PIZZA TOAST, Php 195
Cheddar, mozzarella & parmesan.
This toast was made for all you cheese lovers.
Beef Steak Teriyaki, Php 310
Steak slices cooked in teriyaki sauce. Served with seasoned bell pepper, onion slices and white rice. This was my FIL’s order so I wasn’t able to try it but he finished it fast so I guess it was good. Heehee.
HONEY LEMONGRASS CHOPS, Php 310
Two pieces pork chops marinated and grilled in our honey lemongrass marinade. Served with a side of tomato, corn salsa and java rice.
It was a good dish!
CRISPY PORK BELLY WITH KIMCHI RICE, Php 310
The sweet and salty flavor of the deep fried pork belly perfectly complements the spicy kimchi rice.
I liked this dish. The crunch belly goes well with the soft spicy (though I don’t find the rice that spicy) kimchi rice.
My kids so amazed listening to their Kong Kong’s stories while we wait for dessert.
Because there’s always room for dessert. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to order the famous Ghirardelli
Caramel Pecan Crunch, Php 110
Cafe Shibuya’s interpretation of Caramel Cake with a crunch. I’m a caramel lover but unfortunately this isn’t something I’d order again. I wish the cake was more moist and the caramel flavor more evident.
PIZZOOKIE, Php 285
Dark chocolate chip cookie hot out of the oven topped with vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate syrup. YUM!!!
MANGO CARAMEL TOAST, Php 235
Diced mangoes served on top of a crumbly graham cracker crust and vanilla cream sauce. Served with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with caramel sauce.
This is a filling dessert that even those who are not sweet tooth will enjoy.
Cafe Shibuya had me at their toasts! I hope they open their SM Megamall branch soon so I can try their Ghirardelli dark chocolate drink. 😉
