If only I have enough kitchen space, I would buy all the kitchen gadgets that tickle my fancy so that cooking and preparing food would be so much easier.
It didn’t help that I was invited for to an afternoon of showcasing kitchen appliances over good food and good company.
Afternoon Bites was hosted by Braun & Severin, it was an intimate gathering that rounded up a handful of homemakers- yours truly included- as they shared some of their nifty kitchen tools that are available here in Manila.
The food we had were made using Braun & Severin kitchen appliances. These two brands are officially being distributed by Colombo Merchant Company- which started in 1995 as a commission agent for Duty Free Philippines. Twenty years later, their portfolio grew as they handle distribution of small appliances of Braun, Severin, Beurer and Minox in major stores such as Rustans, SM Appliance, Anson, S&R, and Abenson.
Pomodoro diavola and napolitana Panini, Chili con carne dip, Sweet and sour tamarind fish on a cup and Chicken cheese crisp with cherry tomato and basil puree.

Fab layered crepe cake
These are the Braun & Severin kitchen appliances that were used to create the food we had that afternoon.
Food processor, mixer, crepe maker, raclette party grill, hand mixer and juicer.
Mish Aventajado of Momma N’ Manila hosted the lovely afternoon event. She’s the prefect host as she’s such a Martha Stewart in her own right.
Beverly Ong Campos, Managing Partner of Colombo Philippines shared that the company started as the distributor of confectionary products like Cadbury & Toblerone to Duty Free and now here they are as the official and exclusive distributor of Severin, Minox, Beurer and Braun personal care & small appliances. Oh and she also educated us that the correct pronunciation of Braun is brown- very German!
Chef Redj Baron prepared easy to do dishes using Braun & Severin appliances. Catch his show on UNTV, Cook Eat Right which airs every Sunday.

There were quick demos on the appliances by Braun & Severin. This shows how easy to make your own cone with this Severin wafer/cone maker.
After feasting on good food, we were in for a surprise as we took home a kitchen tool of our choice.
Cai & Conci took home a Severin multi-use sandwich toaster, Didi got a Braun hand mixer, Kaye had a Severin wafer/cone maker, Tina got a Braun coffee maker and Tin got a Braun water kettle. As for me, well, I got a Severin juicer! OMG. I’ve been wanting to own a juicer for the longest time and now I have one. I cannot wait to enjoy freshly made juice daily. I’ll post a separate review of this nifty kitchen product after I’ve mastered using it. 😉
Happiness is having my own juicer! Yay!
Thank you so much Colombo Philippines for the lovely afternoon of sharing the innovations of Braun & Severin to us, we all went home as happier homemakers!
