The thing I look forward to on weekends is the time I get to spend with my family. Our weekends are mostly filled with activities we need to attend as a family- celebrations, errands and our usual Sunday church. Sometimes, a busy weekend can leave us drained, unable to welcome the coming weekday enthusiastically. Thus, a little R&R from time to time is appropriate. Acacia Hotel gave us just that, for it served as our home last weekend. We took the opportunity to spend quality time together and just enjoyed a weekend away from the hustle & bustle of the Metro.
We were looking forward to our weekend staycation as this is the first time we’ll be staying at Acacia as a family of four ‘coz the last time we stayed at Acacia, I was still pregnant with lil’ Mr. GJG. So we were pretty excited to experience Acacia once again. Checking in was a breeze, immediately we proceeded to our room and this is what greeted us.
Our family photo, printed and framed. The thing I like most (and I know all of you would agree) when staying in a hotel is the little things and effort the hotel makes to make one feel special and welcomed. Personalized hospitality at its finest.
A fresh floral arrangement & a spread of the latest issues of magazines greeted us upon entering our room. We stayed in a junior suite room by the way. The 43 sqm. has ample space that has a cozy sofa, a reading nook, an executive desk, a king-sized bed, closet, mini bar, there’s enough room should you need to request for an extra bed like we did.
One of the hotel bathrooms (here in Metro Manila) that I like is Acacia’s. It’s spacious & uncomplicated, as the shower is separate from the bathtub.
Lil’ Mr. GJG tinkering with the 40-inch TV.
There’s something about hotels & kids noh? Even though they didn’t bring enough toys with them, my kids had loads of fun exploring, walking around, being happy & silly. Luckily, I was able to snap some cute and adorable photos of them.
Zoey and Elmo tagged along with us.
Some useful reminders from Acacia. I love it when hotels take part in giving social awareness to their guests. The responsibility they carry to inform us of how we can do our part to help conserve our resources such as water and electricity.
While I know that staying at a hotel includes the luxury of relaxing and being able to utilise their services, one must remember to do his/her part to help the environment. That’s why I like it when hotels have friendly reminders such as these.
After settling in, the kids immediately requested we head down to the pool.
The weather was perfect that day. It was sunny enough yet it was breezy.
My kids are such water babies. So glad they had fun swimming & being in the water.
Come 7 in the evening, we went to see Turbo the movie in the play area. I thought the lil’ GJGs were tired from all the paddling and wagging but I was wrong as they had enough energy to play a few minutes before the movie started.
After the movie, we spent our lovely evening at The Lobby for dinner.
Happiness is when lil’ Mr. GJG figured he can try to make his own milkshake.
Our creation: Vanilla milkshake mixed with mango, banana, and caramel syrup topped with Oreo. 🙂
While waiting for our food to arrive, my hyper kids got glued to their seats as they were busy coloring.
Blueberry pancakes for the lil. GJGs. Love how fluffy and generous the serving of blueberries are.
I ordered Nasi Goreng and I loved it. The chicken was tender, the peanut sauce was flavourful. Definitely, the food at Acacia improved in the span of two years since our last stay.
It got a smile of approval from lil’ Mr. GJG.
Mr. GJG tried Acacia’s drink of the month- Equinox. You get a free stuff toy when you order this.
When we returned to our room, this greeted us. How thoughtful is this?
Just as the kids fell asleep, we had an in room massage courtesy of Acacia’s Lurra Wellness Spa. It’ located at the 3rd floor and is open from 2PM to 12 MN but in room is available until 3 AM. We had the relaxing aromatherapy massage that magnified our relaxing slumber.
So much so that we ate breakfast at almost 10 AM, technically, that’s brunch already. The breakfast buffet is now at Acaci restaurant located at the mezzanine floor instead of The Lobby.
From salads to sushi rolls, down to fresh fruits and fresh juices. Acaci breakfast buffet serves more food compared two years ago.
Filipino & American breakfast food were served as well. Have your eggs cooked the way you want it. Porridge, oatmeal or noodles? They’ve got it too.
My happy corner of pastries and desserts.
After breakfast, the kids requested for a quick dip again.
I was able to do a few laps since there weren’t anyone swimming with us. It was my weekend’s workout as I wasn’t able to squeeze some gym time. After our cooling in the pool, we got ready to attend the Sunday service that Acacia hotel has. Not all hotels offer Sunday mass and we were glad to know Acacia has a 12 noon service at one of their function rooms.
After checking out, we indulged a little more and had late lunch at The Lobby.
Energy Booster drink for Mr. GJG.
The Lobby also offers Nespresso drinks.
A complimentary soup is given when you dine at The Lobby.
Choose among cucumber, orange or lemon wedge to add flavor to your water.
Penne pasta for the lil’ GJGs. This got my kids’ approval and they finished the entire plate.
Acacia Supreme Pizza is one of The Lobby at Acacia’s best sellers. Crunchy thin crust topped with sausage, asparagus, broccoli, mushroom and mozzarella cheese.
Another one of the best sellers- Angus Beef Burger that Mr. GJG & I had to share. Thick angus beef patty that serves as the star of the dish, choose to add the lettuce, tomatoes and onions to make it perfect.
We capped off our hearty lunch with Oreo Mudpie. Vanilla ice cream sandwiched with crushed Oreos topped with almond slices and chocolate syrup. Need I say more? 🙂
My fellow dessert lover Gabbie loved it as much as I did!
Thank you so much Acacia Hotel for the warm welcome and for the hospitality you’ve showed the GJGs. We truly enjoyed our stay and we wish we could’ve stayed longer. I have to say, the food has greatly improved and it’s something I’d recommend everyone to try. This October would be the prefect month to visit Acacia Hotel as they’re celebrating their 3rd anniversary and they’ve got special rates for all of you.
