One of the opportunities blogging has given me is that I get to meet a lot of people. So lucky that I had a chance to have an intimate brunch with one of the brands that I love, Human Nature. I, together with the other SoMoms got to know the team behind the brand as well as the lovely story about how Human Nature started through it’s founder, Anna Meloto-Wilk.
How can you say no with this lovely invite?
Anna Meloto-Wilk shared to the SoMoms how Human Nature started. The idea of creating a brand that carries Eco-friendly products that cater to moms and kids while at the same time supports the local community was something that Anna really wanted. It was mostly passion that drove Anna and husband Dylan to start up a business that they believe would change the local market. Anna’s inspiration in building Human Nature was her kids. All she wants is for them to grow to be the best person that they can be and at least not contribute to the evil of the world. I think this is what most moms pray and hope their kids would turn out to be.

Plush & Play is a Filipino brand that offers fun, educational and safe toys for children. Its founder, Fabien Courteille, a 24-year old French social entrepreneur, who arrived in the Philippines in 2011 to do a 3-month internship with Gawad Kalinga (GK) Enchanted Farm. The Plush & Play brand was launched in 2012 after Fabien learned that most toys from the Philippines came from China and most of them contain toxic substances or parts (such as plastic) that pose health hazard to children. He also noticed that the women staying in the GK Enchancted Farm were skilled sewers but were not employed anywhere. Because he wanted to address these gaps, he saw the opportunity to launch Plush & Play.
