Last Saturday was the day of Blogopolis 2013. It was also the birthday weekend of Mr. GJG and we decided to do a staycation at Hotel Intercontinental in Makati. Chamba talaga that the event was also held at the same hotel. It was such a perfect timing as I really wanted to attend this year’s Blogopolis and at the same time promised my family a staycation.
So dinaig ko pa si Abe Olandres, the Country Manager of Nuffnang Philippines at ako naka-check in sa Intercon. Heehee.
Here’s a glimpse of what happened last weekend.
Nuffnang Blogopolis 2013 greeted us upon checking in.
A look at our home for last weekend. There’s really something about hotel rooms that make you feel like you’re important and pampered.
Hotel beds are known for their ultra soft mattress toppers and blankets. As well as pillow menus where you can choose your preferred pillow. Sorry I wasn’t able to take a photo of that but basically, you get to pick what kind of pillow you want. Goose feather, synthetic fiber or even therapy pillows are available.
Uuuy, if my workspace was this big I would’ve blog more often. Well, actually hindi din because I have a gajillion things to do. Heehee.
Request granted! One of the key components when we do stay cations or travel with the kids is we make sure there’s a crib available. Good thing, Hotel Intercontinental was able to provide us with a baby cot. Thank you so much!
Bathroom fetish, Mr. GJG & I have. So far, we like how clean Hotel Intercontinental’s bathroom is.
A few inches to the right of the toilet, you’ll immediately see the bathtub and shower.
Mini bar.
Because we have to do our part to save the environment, I really appreciate it when hotels do this.
So after checking in and settling in our room, I left the GJGs there for their nap time (yes, pati si Mr. GJG best in nap time!) This gave me the chance to go eight floors down to attend Blogopolis 2013.
I was able to take a few photos of the speakers.Lori Baltazar of Dessert Comes First talked about the importance of quality content and how to do podcasts.
TJ Manotoc talked about how netizens make it to the headlines and get quoted with their opinions, statuses and shout outs.
Jim Paredes and his witty insights on how to be a good social media influencer.
Tippy & Pong Go of Googly Gooeys gave us a run-through on how to create a media kit.
Christine Dychiao discussed the different tools a blogger can use to drive back traffic to his or her blog.
After the talks and Q&As in the afternoon, the event of the night was the announcement of winners. I didn’t win The Webmeister award (congrats Erwan for winning and thank you to everyone who voted) but I did win Jane of The Night alongside Victor Basa who won Tarzan of The Night.
Hindi ako prepared pero very apt ang outfit ko na lakas maka-Jane of the jungle di vez?! 😉
More more prizes! Best in raffle ako. Yay! 🙂
With the Nuffnang Talents!
The Nuffies! Congratulations for a successful event! 🙂
OISHIIIII! I lav et! Hakot ba kamo?!
Back to our staycation, since the day was spent on sleeping for my kids and Blogopolis for me, come the next day we decided to order breakfast in bed.
The one thing I like about staying in at hotels is that I don’t need to wake up early and prepare breakfast! A call away and there’s food na.
We wanted to take a dip and swim as I heard Intercontinental pool is newly renovated but my kids have cough and flu pa so we just stayed in our room, watched TV while jumping up and down the bed. Nothing beats quality time with your family talaga.
I love it that my kids also loving staying in at hotels as much as I do. Now lil’ Ms. GJG frequently asks when our next staycation will be. Aba, aba, aba! Hindi nag mahilig sa toys, mahilig naman mag stay sa hotel!
Thank you Hotel Intercontinental Makati and Make It Makati for the lovely staycation. We enjoyed it! 🙂
