For the first time in Manila direct from London’s West End, Tall Stories’ irresistible sell-out adaptation of The Gruffalo is live on stage.
Lil’ Ms. GJG’s familiar with the book but we don’t own a copy. Every time she sees The Gruffalo she gets a bit scared and would hide behind me and would say “monster”. So when I told her that Gruffalo’s coming here (in Manila) and will perform live, she was NR (no reaction). But when I showed here this video clip, she changed her mind and wanted to watch the play.

To our surprise, she enjoyed it! My darling Gabbie couldn’t stop talking about the fox, the owl, the snake and of course the mouse and the gruffalo. So much so that she mimics the sound of each animal and tries to retell the story to her shoti- lil’ Mr. GJG.
What we’ve picked up from the story- You can be brave if you choose to be. Your size wouldn’t matter although being cunning is another story. Imagination will rule as you go ‘oooh’ and ‘aaahhh’ for every time the mouse describes the ‘imaginary’ gruffalo, only to find out that the non-existent, made up creature is indeed real. In the end the protagonist made it safe and sound back from the dark scary forrest.
Gruffalo in Manila will run until tomorrow February 17, 2013 at the Rockwell Tent. Buy three tickets and get one free. You can buy your tickets at www.ticketworld.com.ph
We’re off to get a copy of the book. Yay! 🙂
[…] Summer’s here! And yet I find myself wearing black, sequins and shiny shimmery splendid. Oh well towel! I must remind myself that summer here is scorching hot so I must wear light colored clothes or at least opt to go with the whole summery feel. Well we’ll see. Anyway, here’s an outfit I wore when we watched The Gruffalo Live In Manila. […]
