Summer= Beach. That’s how it is and that’s how it will be. I’m quite jealous with friends who were in Boracay over the course of summer. Long weekends, random weekends, holidays and even Labor Day, everyone I know somehow managed to fly to Boracay to experience the clear water, fine white sand and sip a cold shake from Jonah’s while watching the sunset. Jealous much? Yes, yes I am.
So I unearthed my photo taken in Boracay to ease my jealousy.
Now memories started flowing like tears as I reminisce about the last time I was in Boracay. It was the summer of 2010, not so long ago if you’d ask anyone but for me it feels like years or a decade has passed by. It was a memorable sumer because it was the first summer vacation I had as a Mrs.
Read our shallow yet cute story on how we’ve identified & compared ourselves with a pair of slippers here.
It is a sweet escape…
Yep. It was indeed a perfect summer vacation. Looking back at these photos now makes me want to rekindle the whole “honeymoon” stage with my husband. To borrow a line from a song, “we were young, wild and free”. But if you’ll ask me now what’s my ideal vacation, my top answer will still be a long weekend in Boracay.
I would still bask in the sun, sand and sea of Boracay but this time around it’ll be different. I’ll pack lighter but will bring loads of extra clothes and toys for my daughter & for our second baby (who will see the world in September 2012).
Life’s a beach.
Instead of doing absolutely nothing by the beach, I’ll build a sand castle with my kids. Let them see the beauty of Boracay while we nonchalantly share a cup of fresh fruit shake while losing ourselves to the lovely sunset.
By then, I’ll be patting myself at the back for a job well done in mastering the art of being a beach bum which soon I shall share the secret to my kids.
Aaaah, this is definitely my idea of a sweet summer escape. Beach + Family= Sweet Summer Escape.
While I dream and try to plan for our Boracay trip (hopefully next summer), I shall whisk away my jealousy and instead indulge in pretty unique things. By unique I mean making your own pair of slippers.
For the beach bum like me who sadly can only wish for another quick getaway, head on over to Rockwell Tent on May 10-14, 2012 and go crazy as you choose among the different colors & styles of Havainas which you can personalize and call it your own. This is also a perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day you know *ahem ahem*

After all, a summer getaway wouldn’t be complete without a good pair of slippers 😉
And a lovely pair of personalized Havaianas would look even lovelier if you match it with a nicely groomed feet so…
