You can tell a lot about a person based on how he/she smells. As someone who loves wearing and experimenting on different kinds of scents, I know what I smell contributes to my mood, my feelings and my thoughts. It also helps me remember people and events in my life. Things that can’t be captured by a photograph, a scent reminds you of a certain feeling that’s very familiar yet unique.
I remember officially wearing a scent I chose on my own when I was in high school. A transition from cologne to an EDT (eau de toilette) was then a challenge for me. As someone who was getting a fixed amount of allowance I wasn’t really sure where and what to get. I wanted a sweet smelling scent that would make me feel I’m still young but also at the same a woman in the making. Eventually I found that scent through Zen Zest’s Tangerine, pasok sa banga with my bujey (fits right with my budget) sweet-smelling scent achieved! Now after almost a decade, I rekindled that feeling of being young again.
I together with a few bloggers who I’ve come to know were invited over brunch on a Saturday by Nana Nadal for an intimate bloggers brunch to get to know the Eau De Toilette scents as well as the woman behind the proudly Pinoy brand Zen Zest. I was the early bird so I was able to take a few pictures before brunch started.

Silver for men (could also be for women) has the winning combination of herbs, vanilla, and amber.
Blue for men is excellent for day wear, with an aquatic cool concoction of nutmeg, rosewood, musk and patchouli.
Black for men is a robust fragrances which boasts of woody freshness and a surge of spicy notes.
Coral for women has a light and inviting scent of flowers and powder.
I personally love Silver, Coral and Thistle each scent gives off a fresh, clean smell just like coming out from the shower.
Michelle also shared with us some tips on how to make fragrance last longer.
Scent Layering: Building your fragrance by using the shower gel/soap, deodorant, lotion and perfume on top will enhance the scents longevity and create an overall halo of fragrance around your body.
Spray perfume before putting on any clothes or before wearing jewelries. Some perfumes leave indelible stains on clothing and accessories, especially synthetic fibers and pearls.
When you spray perfume on you wrist, NEVER RUB IT together because it would “Compress” the scent and wont allow the scent to develop naturally with you body chemistry. Rubbing also breaks down the oils and changes the scent. One reason why Scents Evaporate Quickly is because of Dry Skin.Apply lotion with the same scent, or an unscented lotion before spraying fragrance on.To make the scent long lasting, you have to spray right after you are out of the shower, because you pores are still open. After a shower, you body temperature will be higher and the skin will be primed to received fragrance.Store fragrances in a cool dark place – cool temperature preserves the original scent, keeping the top notes extra potent and making it last longer. The best place to store you fragrance is in the fridge.Fragrance is not like wine – it does not get better with age. Fragrance starts to deteriorate the moment it is processed and bottled so the fresher you can get it, the better. That’s why storing your fragrance for years is never a good idea. Use them and enjoy them!Never buy based on the Smelling Strip. Try before you buy and see how the fragrance reacts to you skins chemistry.
Thanks Zen Zest for the goodies! I’m pretty much excited to try their body scrub, hand lotion and particularly their fragrant diffuser since I’m currently obsessed with our house and rooms smelling good.
