Booking a hotel last minute especially on holidays can guarantee you less chance of room availability and rates twice as much. Luckily despite Baguio being a summer destination, we were able to find an accommodation that was easy on the budget the very last minute which decided our trip instead of a staycation.
Kenon Road has improved over the years. It was still steep but the road cliffs were blocked with concrete barriers. Check out the fog over the mountains surrounding it.
The famous Lion will welcome you to Baguio.
We reached Pines View Hotel at around 6 in the evening. Imagine we left at 6 am?! Give and take 2 hours for food & Our Lady Of Manaoag Shrine stop over, 10 hours of travel time to Baguio (which is usually around 5-6 hours only) via Kenon Road, thanks to traffic. We were so tired we didn’t have enough energy that night but I was able to snap a few pictures of the hotel.
Stone & wood make for a cozy feel that’s apt for a cold weather.
Antique displays and paintings surround the hotel giving you a local feel of the place.
Spacious but bare family deluxe room that’s good for 4 pax, comes with a free breakfast.
Television with cable and wifi are available and accessible in each rooms.
I find the room where we stayed in a bit dirty, the smell of an old room to be exact. The floor was a bit dusty too. It somewhat caused allergy attacks for my family and I so we requested to have it cleaned thoroughly.
Filipino breakfast: Bangsilog: bangs (milk fish), sinangag (apparently, the rice isn’t) at it log (egg)
American breakfast: Toast with butter & jam, hotdogs and egg.

Just some heads up on Pines View Hotel:
-It is easier to call them for reservation & inquiry rather than emailing them. Reservation can be given immediately depending upon availability with no deposit required.
– Parking is located at the front of the hotel which is very limited and is on first come first serve basis.
-Not all rooms have built-in blow dryer (but can be requested) & mini bar/refrigerator. The room which we occupied had none of these (see pictures above).
-Don’t expect that there would be an air conditioner nor electric fan inside each room since it’s cold (but sometimes there’s no breeze). Although you could request for the latter if you find the cool Baguio breeze insufficient.
– Be patient with their staff mainly because most of them seemed like they’re doing their OJT, (on the job training) at least during our stay. They weren’t understaffed but most of them barely knew what they were doing and still have a lot of room for improvement, nonetheless they were very hospitable.
