I’ve never really thought about the logic behind the idea of babies wearing white garments even before I had a baby of my own. I just thought it looks more clean and presentable. Up until I attended Beginnings’ press launch last Thursday, I learned that white garments are preferred by pediatricians for newborns for three main reasons: easier to spot stains & dirts, easier to detect insects and is clean & cool to baby’s skin.
White is a good color to wear on a hot, humid weather like here in Manila, plus it is less attractive to mosquitoes.
I got super giddy upon seeing Beginnings’ display of baby garments. This was also the day I learned I’m carrying a baby boy! Dragon baby is a shot! So this pair of baby boots really caught my attention.
My surprised/amused face in one of the pictures is brought to you by the image above. Yes, Beginnings is not made of 100% cotton, they are made with love & cotton. But on a serious note, it’s made with cotton and partly polyester as studies have suggested it less irritates babies skin and is much lighter and breathable than 100% cotton.
I have also learned that Beginnings strictly follows US Standards for Baby Clothes.
– We only use premium Shiny Cotton Thread to guarantee the durability of our products.
– To avoid loose or too-tightly sewn stitches, we follow a specific stitching distance results in stitching that is never twisted or wrinkled.
-Attachments on shoulders and sides are more durable for long-term use due to the double stitching care of our overlock machines.
-Cotton ties are easily adjustable for your baby’s comfort. More importantly, it is also safer than using buttons which are considered to be choking hazards for children 0-12 months.
-Special needles are used to avoid puckering that can cause unsightly needle holes and other defects such as open seams, raw edges and broken stitches. Regular needles can create holes that will make garments more prone to breakage and tear.
-Special cotton garters with carefully studied, standard measurements required for maximum stretch guarantees your baby’s supreme comfort. You no longer have to worry about waistline marks and other irritations.
Mr. Kishu suggested I look around their gondola display if something might interest me. I said if only it wasn’t my tradition to wait until my seventh or eighth month of pregnancy before I buy clothes & other items for the baby because I don’t like to jinx it, I’d definitely buy one of each in a heartbeat. To my surprise, he instructed one of his staff to get one of each item and give it to me. Lookie at what I got!
Thank you Mr. Kishu & Govind Daswani for the goodies you two have generously given me & my baby boy! What an early gift! I’m pretty much excited to open them all but that’ll have to wait for a few more months. As I’ve observed when I opened one item from the loot, I’ve noticed the softness of the fabric, the excellent double-stitching and cotton ties attachment exudes sturdiness. I hope that the excellent quality would really prove itself after a few cycles in the washing machine. Looking forward to bragging about Beginnings not prone to any loose or broken stitching as well as breakage and tear of the cloth. Ask me again in a year to find out, nonetheless I’m liking what I see and am quite confident it’ll still look new after a few washes. 😉
