Halloween was once just a passing holiday for me up until I became a mom and suddenly I found myself checking out costumes for my daughter. So then I realized Halloween is a fun occasion, if only our building has an association already, I would’ve suggested we have our own Trick or Treat since I’ve seen a few neighbor kids around. I would’ve love to decorate our apartment and would even be giddier to buy treats to give away but maybe next year.
When you have kids, everything indeed changes but all is for the better (not to count the stress and haggardness parenting brings of course). You tend to see things in a different light, more accurately in its good light. And so somehow I managed to celebrate Halloween for my daughter’s enjoyment. Here’s Gabbie during her first Halloween when she was just eight months old.
It had been a tradition that we visit my in laws’ departed loved ones during this time of the year so we annually head out to Subic, Olongapo to pay our respects to them. This is also our way of taking a quick break from the busy life in the city so we normally spend our Halloween there and luckily last year we were able to take Gabbie for her first look on how Halloween is celebrated.
A year has passed and now Gabbie is a year and eight months old and has officially had her first trick or treat thanks to her daddy’s office! heehee
It sure was a fun way to celebrate Halloween, I’ve traded my witch’s broom and became a fairy godmother instead and I ain’t complaining!
Happy Long Weekend! (again)
