Suspension of classes last Friday got my kids looking forward to the long weekend. While warnings about incoming Typhoon Ompong were evident even during the start of the week, I still went out on a Friday payday because of three things.
First I met up with this birthday girl. My Roomie, my fitspiration & my favorite introvert! We were supposed to workout but then ended up getting lunch so we can catch up for three hours–which isn’t really enough heehee.
Second, I finally went back to see my doctor after more than a year of my follow up visit. I know, I know. For someone who values health & wellness, I am still iffy when it comes to hospitals and doctor visits. I guess it has a lot to do with my history of being sickly. But now I’m ready to do more self-care by taking my health seriously. Running on more test to see if every part of me is working perfectly. Will update once I get my results. ☺️
Lastly, Jago & I finally went back to our usual Fridate. We took this opportunity to have dinner & watch a movie (we watched A Simple Favor and we enjoyed it!) & learned there’s such a thing as mixed flavored popcorn at Powerplant Mall! Hahaha.
Side story: I was kinda full from dinner but I always like munching on something while watching a movie. So I lined up without even thinking about what flavor to get but then I heard the girl before me order “mix flavor”. Not even sure what the mix is but I ended up getting the same. I think it’s a mix of cheddar cheese & white cheese. Hahaha.
Come Saturday we had an easy morning. We had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Le Ching! My kids love Wanton Noodle Soup while Jago & I love their Spareribs Rice.
Such a comfort food on a rainy day.
And because on weekdays I eat whatever I want, I had this Auntie Anne’s Milo Cream Cheese Stix is Juro’s favorite & I’ve come to love it too. #thisiswhyiworkout
Spent the rest of the afternoon staying home. The kids doodled their way. Here they are drawing Beast Boy of Teen Titans. Eventually we all took a nap in preparation for dinner with our extended family.
Saturday well spent with family.
After church on Sunday morning, I brought my family to try Ebi10 at Courtyard 453 for lunch. I’ve been to this food hall with my Pilates mommas last month when we had my birthday lunch & I enjoyed the food they had to offer. There’s Vietnamese, Chinese, Filipino, American & Japanese cuisine.
We love Japanese food so we’re excited to try some of the dishes of Ebi 10.
Ebi 10 is a tempura bar in Poblacion Makati (in Tambai Alley) so I’m glad they’re finally in San Juan!
Off the menu must try: Diamond Roll & Dragon Roll.
Salmon Aburi & Torched Salmon
Tempura, Gyoza, Dragon Roll & Tuna & Scallop Dynamite.
Steak with Ponzu Garlic Sauce
Bacon Yakisoba & Ebi 10 Chahan
I love all the rolls & I would definitely order them again. The tempura was a hit! My kids love the light & crispy batter. Just glad Ebi 10 is now in San Juan. Definitely including this on our fave list.
Can you tell this cutie enjoyed his lunch? Heehee.
So after lunch, we head out to the grocery.
Enjoying this time when the kids still love being carried even though they’re 30 & 20 kilos already! Heehee.
These two can’t get enough arts & crafts. So instead of getting sweets or chips for their treat, they asked us to get this.
So that’s our weekend. It was steady despite the gloomy weather. We were well-rested and recharged for the week.
