This was a busy yet a good week for me. I managed to see friends, did something that challenged me, bonded with my kids and got muscle injury. Hahaha. But all is good!
Started the week right by having brunch with my Pilates Squad to celebrate Michelle of My Mom Friday & Cai of Apples & Dumpling’s birthdays.
That same day I also did wall climbing for the very first time. All thanks to Zojirushi for mounting this event. I am afraid of heights but I’m very competitive when it comes to doing something for the first time. A year ago I shared my discovery of Zojirushi which you can read about HERE. So happy with the rice cooker I bought because it cooks brown/red rice more efficiently. Now I discovered their water bottle and what sets it apart. You can click on the Instagram post to know more.
Shortly after the event, Jeff of Pinoy Fitness & I went for a post-climb snack. Yes, Romantic Baboy aka unli meat for snack because hashtag this is why we workout. Heeheehee.
This week is also the last week of school for my kids. Juro, my son shows empathy even at a young age. He was looking forward to his last day as a Grade 1 mainly because he likes summer and also because he wants to donate his school bag upon learning there’s a donation drive initiated by his school. He also donated his old school schools & his Achi’s. This was all his doing–didn’t have to tell him to let go of these things so knowing what he’s done makes me so proud to be his mom. When I asked him what did he feel upon putting his bag in the donation box, he said “Donating something to people who don’t have things like I have makes me happy.” Aaaahhh my heart!
This week, I also did #Isabels5DaySaladChallenge where I replaced one meal each day for five days with a salad or wrap from Isabels. If you follow me on Instagram you know how I try to eat more greens & eat healthy on weekdays. Ever since I discovered Isabel’s I’ve been ordering from them. I’ll share more about my diet aka eating healthy on another post since a lot of you have been asking me about it.
Also I discovered Baytown’s Produce. They’re a fruit delivery service that delivers fresh fruits straight to your doorstep. I’ve been trying to eat more berries and widen my fruit intake (I still haven’t had a bar of chocolate since I did my 30 Day No Sweets Challenge though I’ve had cake na but this is still a milestone for someone like me who have been eating chocolates everyday for 20 years?? Haha) since I’ve been having fruits as my dessert. You can order through their Instagram profile www.instagram.com/baytownsproduce/
Capped off the last week of school by going on date with my kids. Side story: my calves were so sore during our malling and my two kids were very helpful in assisting me to walk. Hahahaha. I think I overworked my calves during my leg day so there. Anyhow, just thankful that I was able to drive to and from Pasay and had enough energy to walk in slow pace motion around Asia’s largest mall!
And because I really felt the struggle of not being able to walk properly and stretch my legs fully for three days, I rewarded myself with one of my favorite yogurts, Llao Llao. I haven’t had this in a long time so feel na feel ko talaga na deserve ko to! Hashtag this is why I workout.
Aaaand our Fridate ended up at a nail spa. While I was getting my nails cleaned. These two asked me if they can get a foot massage (umm guys parang kayo yung napagod with all the walking ah!) Hahahahay. This momma happily obliged to their requests because they’ve been very helpful to me. It’s also a fun way to bond with them. I can’t believe school’s officially out for my kids. Yay! ☺️
Kelly of Lift Style together with Jeff of Pinoy Fitness & I went on a lunch date to try Soru Izakaya’s newest dishes at their Technopoint branch. It’s right where The Upperdeck is (my gym) and yet I haven’t tried it there so I was glad I finally tried it.
They have a handful of new dishes but the ones that stood out most for us three were the Udon Carbonara which is Kelly’s fave, the Tomahawk Katsu which was Jeff’s fave and the Lava Maki which was my fave. They also Tori Karaage, Wagyu Cubes & other new makis. But the one that we love most was their Tiramisu! It was soooooo good! Best part? They’re on Zomato Gold so you can take advantage of their 1+1 deals! Follow them on Instagram for update www.instagram.com/soruizakaya
Come Saturday I met up with my Fit Stop crew for my Roomie’s NT Summer Equinox Day 3 surprise workout. The mystery workout was Fluid Steel Mace headed by Nat Cruz. My calves were still sore so we were literally there for some photo ops! Hahaha. Nonetheless it was a great Saturday spent with some of my favorite people.
Ended the busy week watching a live PBA game with my family. It was Ginebra vs. Magnolia dubbed as Manila Clasico. It was an intense game that lead to an overtime & Ginebra won. It was indeed a busy week but it was something I wouldn’t spend any other way.
