Currently addicted watching Masters Of Sex. Apart from the riveting story, I love how the characters were portrayed, especially Virginia Johnson who is played by Lizzy Caplan. Virginia is witty and full of charm. She’s a woman who is not afraid to step up and be noticed. Apart from these characteristics, I love how she’s well-dressed. Good job to MOS’ costume designer for pulling off the 1950s look. Classic cuts of the clothes back in then are making a huge comeback. I’m particularly loving the below-the-knee (btk) skirts as seen worn by the women of the TV series. True enough, fashion comes and goes, which is why I’m definitely investing on this key piece as I know I can use it years after its trending has worn off.
Check out Mrs. Johnson’s take on btk skirts.
Lav ett! Lakas maka-50s indeed!
Sigh, aren’t the clothes lovely? I’m actually digging the skirts more than the tops. The way it hugs her body yet still makes it office-appropriate. Anyway, here’s me channeling Virginia Johnson. Suddenly, I want to have my hair cut, but that’s too much right? ๐
Na-achieve ko ang below the knee skirt look! Heehee.I feel like I’ve been transported back to the 1950s with this look. It’s simple & clean, no accessories needed as the skirt proves that this outfit can stand out.If I were a woman working in an office, this is what I’d wear. But since I’m not, I wore this instead to an event where I wanted to look dressed and ready to impress.
I’d rather be overdressed than underdressed.
Light reflecting on my skirt. I’m glowing, literally!
Actually, I even passed by the grocery after my event/meeting. I bet my suking grocery store staff were all wondering why I was so dressed that day when they regularly see me in shorts and shirts. Kebs na, pang grocery lang talaga tong outfitey na to. ๐
Keri din to for Valentine’s Day to veer away from all the reds we’ll see that day. After office date? Perfect!
I’ve always been a fan of soft, silky, flowy tops because I find this type of clothing flattering on me. I think it’s a nice piece to add in your closet as it is easy to wear and is easy to pair with almost anything- skirt, shorts and pants, achieve sya promise. Although, I won’t recommend women who are blessed with big bosoms to wear this, as the flowy fit of the top might make them look bigger than they already are. Pang bosom-less (parang bottom less lang haha) to, so its an advantage for us not-so blessed women! ๐
Looking at the houndstooth print closely and for more than a few seconds, I see little aliens raising their hands up in the air eeeer, eeeeer! Is it just me? Or na-sight nyo din? ๐
Aside from below-the-knee skirts, houndstooth print is also a staple piece. Take it from Lizzy & I, houndstooth will forever be in style. ๐
