So I heard all the fuss about BB Cream and I was curious to try. According to my dermatologist, Blemish Balm cream was then used after a facial surgery or facial treatment to temporarily cover the blemishes of the skin. Now, there’s a craze in Asia for the search of the perfect BB cream, I guess a Korean actress found out there’s a better use for BB cream and I think she was right.
I’m no fan of creams and such especially creams that are put on the face, well except for my daily moisturizer. I’d rather have nothing on my face and little make-up (only if needed) so that my skin can breathe, but being a curious cow I purchased a BB cream that I’m willing to give a try.
Maybelline BB Cream has SPF 26 and is said to cover imperfections, moisturizes, brightens and evens skin.
Contains 8 healthy minerals for 8 healthy skin results.
8 healthy skin results:
51% more smoothness
33% more radiance
18% more hydration
13% improved clarity
12% less dark spots
15% less redness
5% pore size reduction
24% better appearance
(* based on an 8-week clinical skin evaluation & 4-week clinical skin evaluation for hydration)
How to use:
After cleansing your skin, dot a small amount of BB Cream on your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin.
Gently blend outwards, then you can opt to top it off with your face powder for a natural matte finish or your choice of foundation for smooth full coverage.
I have yet to try it over the weekend and sport a no make-up look. Will try to take a picture as well. Let’s see how this “magic cream” goes. As for now, stay tuned. 🙂
So, what’s your say about BB creams? 😉
WHAT HAPPENED…
After a week of trying Maybelline BB Cream here’s what I’ve noticed:
I have not much blemish on my face so it’s maybe one reason that I didn’t see the effect of the cream.
The good side:
The cream when applied is smooth and velvety which is good for dry/sensitive skin like mine.
Light-weight feel on the skin regardless of how many you put in your face.
The bad side:
It has only one shade and the sad news is it’s a light shade, for a morena like me it doesn’t suit well. Too bad their sad won’t suit most Filipina skin tone.
My skin had a break-out, maybe because my skin has gotten used to Olay. The light-weight feel of Maybelline irritated my skin, I think it made my skin even dryer. For a sensitive skin like mine, light-weight velvty cream is not good enough, it needs hydration more than hiding blemishes & giving texture.
There goes my BB cream experience, I must say my skin still loves Olay Total Effects, Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizer and Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer. These are & will still be my fave threesome moisturizer 🙂
I hope some of you find BB creams useful. It would’ve save you a lot of time & effort to have a natural look 🙂
Denise (denisekatipunera) says
been hearing a lot about BB creams before and never got to try one. Am a dummy when it comes to make up. Right now am using the Revlon Mineral powder and it works well. I don’t use any base or concealer which i think is about time to explore more about make ups. Am 30 and before i get all wrinkled i must learn make up, well aside from blush and lipstick.
am gonna check Maybelline next week am in the city.
