You’ve probably seen my posts on my little family’s staycations and by now you know how much we love doing it. My kids in particular look forward to our trips, travels and staycations because they prefer to experience a new place or a new hotel over getting the latest toys.
Since we do staycations often, we are always on the lookout for good deals and treats. Recently I discovered Traveloka, an app that let’s you conveniently book flights and hotels at discounted rates!
Downloaded the Traveloka App on iOS for free and registered using my Facebook. It has been my guilty pleasure browsing the app for deals ever since I downloaded it. Really tempted to whisk away my family to a country we’ve never been because of some good deals. But since my kids are back in school and we have little chance to do an out of the country getaway, I opted to check out some of the hotels in the metro instead.
Traveloka is both a flight and hotel booking app. They have domestic and international flights as well as domestic and international hotels. And whatever price is listed the moment you search for a hotel or flight, that’s the final price. The price you see is the actual price you pay–they call it honest prices. If you have any questions or concerns about the deals you want to purchase, (like the Mystery Deal) you can easily also talk to their English or Tagalog speaking representatives who are available 24/7 for any assistance.
So after browsing through the different hotel options Traveloka has, we ended up checking hotels in Manila because the city has more than a handful of hotels we’ve never been to. Hyatt City of Dreams was one of them. We were supposed to check in just in time to welcome New Year when it opened but the hotel was fully booked so we settled for New Year’s Eve dinner at The Café instead. Three years later, we finally had the chance to do a staycation!
When it comes to choosing which hotel to do staycations we love involving our kids. They have a knack for cozy hotel rooms, bath tubs, swimming pool and delicious hotel breakfast. Couldn’t really blame them, after all these are what make up a good staycation right? 🙂
As I was browsing through the app, my kids managed to navigate through it as well. My 7-year old daughter Gabbie was able to figure out the facilities and how the rooms look like with just a few taps and swipes while my 4-year old son Juro zoomed in on the rating as he nonchalantly looked at the star rating, because he figured out that more stars means the hotel has great facilities and service.
After a few clicks, we decided what room to get. We’re booked!
Hello Hyatt City of Dreams!
Here’s our Hyatt Deluxe Twin room. It’s spacious enough for my lil’ gymnasts to do a few cartwheels & backhand stand.
Always love the personal touch hotels give to guests.
My firstborn immediately got settled shortly after we checked in.
Lovely bathtub, separate shower and twin sink got the approval of my kids. I on the other hand find the black marble too chic!
The view from our room got my kids & I excited to swim!
Meanwhile, my lil’ guy immediately felt cozy on their bed.
One of the things my kids always look forward to is some pool time and Hyatt Hotel’s lovely pool did not disappoint my water babies.
Swim, nap, eat, repeat–basically what we do during staycations. My kids liked our room so much, they didn’t want to head down the restaurant to eat dinner and so we ordered room service instead.
Chinese food for dinner!
Another reason why we love doing staycations is we indulge in good food over a movie or in this case a basketball game. It’s the only time our kids can eat on the bed and watch TV!
Love that Hyatt City of Dreams supports local products! The hand embroidered table runner is available for purchase and proceeds go to their adopt school, Baclaran Elementary. What a way to support local communities!
I had to catch up with some work during our staycation, meanwhile my lil’ lady borrowed my old laptop so she could supplement her studies with a few online tutorials. Yeeeep, she’s very studious and I wonder where she got that from? *ahem, probably from her mom, ahem* Heehee.
I love being silly with my kids and whenever we do staycations, my husband & I make it appoint to really bond with them because daily life & work can sometimes be too handful. And whenever we feel like we haven’t really spend good quality time as a family, we resort to doing staycations. It’s refreshing & it’s a quick break away from the daily routine that oftentimes consume us. Believe me, your kids will remember times like this.
Shortly after the kids are tucked in bed, I take my me time and indulge in a warm bubble bath.
As usual we end up turning early that night and woke up a bit early too because we’re always excited for breakfast!
My staycation ritual: I always do fasted cardio/quick workout prior to helping myself at the breakfast buffet.
The fitness center is one of the things I am really keen whenever we pick a hotel to stay in. When it comes to working out, I don’t compromise and even on a “holiday” I make sure to clock in an hour or two.
Early morning workout done! Now time to indulge in breakfast!
Breakfast at The Café. Their buffet ranges from Japanese, American, Chinese to Filipino cuisine.
Healthy shots greeted us by the entrance of The Café.
To be honest I didn’t know which station to go to first. So to pacify my excitement, I let my daughter pick her breakfast first.
Pancake and waffle is always a good idea.
This little cutie is as excited as I am when it comes to breakfast buffets.
How I enjoy my breakfast spread: Get everything I want, take a photo, enjoy! 😀
Usually you’d find us lounging by the pool and swimming our hearts out. But since it was raining during our weekend stay at Hyatt City of Dreams, we decided to literally stay in and enjoy our bed & bathtub even more.
You know it’s a good staycation if the sheets are all rumpled up!
Take a look at the video and see how we enjoyed our staycation at Hyatt City of Dreams by booking through Traveloka.
You need not to go far or spend more so you can spend quality time with your family. With Traveloka, you get good deals on flights and hotels for you and your family.
