Here’s one of my favorite recipes which I have been making since I was a teenager (okay, I sounded old). I usually cook this during the Christmas season, so what better way than share this recipe a day before Christmas? *big smile*
Wachunid:
(sorry no photo of the ingredients, wasn’t able to take one *sad face*)
1/4 kilo (the smallest pack) of macaroni pasta (I usually use Del Monte brand)
1 small can of your preferred tomato sauce
1 small can of tomato paste (optional)
1 can Campbell’s cream of mushroom
1/4 cup full cream milk
1/4 kilo ground pepper
3-6 strips maple flavored bacon (optional)
Quick melt cheese (for topping)
6 cloves of garlic
1 medium sized onion (I prefer white onion)
1 medium size red bell pepper
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. oil
1 tsp. cornstarch
salt & pepper to taste
Easy Peasy Steps:
1. Cook the macaroni pasta.
2. For the red sauce:
The maple flavored bacon makes the red sauce a bit sweet, so there’s on need to add sugar.
3. For the white sauce:
The purpose of having a creamy white sauce (I don’t put in salt nor sugar) is to contrast the sweet, tangy red sauce. I add cream cheese on my white sauce before but since my husband doesn’t like salty foods much, I just had to consider so I decided to make my white sauce creamy but not salty.
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 15-30 minutes (once cheese is bubbling then it is cooked).
Hope you like my baked macaroni recipe.
That’s all!
How are you gonna spend Christmas Eve?
