Today’s key piece is a boyfriend polo shirt top that I bought in 2008 at Greenhills tiangge. I like how boyfriend shirts have become a staple in a girl’s closet. It’s a very versatile piece. One can pair it with different kinds of bottoms. Might I also add that this shirt has served me well, even while I was pregnant! I love how breezy and soft the cotton fabric is.
I always add a little color whenever I wear a monotone outfitey. Another tip, sometimes buying branded items that are basic/staple pieces is a good thing because you know the quality is way different from those you buy in tiangges BUT sometimes, it’s also wise if you check first in thrift stores/ukay-ukay for such key pieces before buying in branded stores. If you think you’ll wear it more often than any other clothes then I suggest invest on key pieces. Say this leggings/tights I got from Zara, after wearing it during my pregnancy it still looks nice and still fits perfectly. I suggest you wait for sale season if you want to invest on branded items but find it too pricey, or else you can always look for them on thrift stores/ ukay-ukays whichever works for you and your wallet. 😉
THE OUTFITEY:
Boyfriend polo shirt: Babo (Greenhills tiangge)
Black fitted leggings: Zara
Black garterized belt: Forever 21
Green perforated flats: Zara
Another tip: If you want to invest on branded shoes, I again suggest you wait until the next season sale. They usually have that at the start of the year and in the middle of the year. I’ve been eyeing this green flats since I saw it but found the original retail price too expensive (for a perforated synthetic leather) so I waited, and to my luck found them on sale (tip: remember the name/code of the item you want and ask for it when it’s on sale).
Like I always say, if everything else fails you always have Ebay, online shops and ukay-ukay for that key piece that most likely only you can have.
That’s all!
ooo,
J.
