Il Ponticello has given me a few good memories back when I was single (and not really ready to mingle) as my modelling agency’s office is just a stone’s throw away from this not-so-secret Makati hang out place. It has always exuded a relax and steady vibe, a place you can go with your friends or co-workers after a hard day’s work. A place where you don’t need much words to get you through dinner, just good food, great music and wonderful people.
It’s been almost 7 years since I’ve last been there (OMG, it’s been THAT long!) So I went back to the new Il Ponticello with some of the SoMoms for a (hashtag) Nanays Night Out to send off one of our friends, Jenny of My Mommyology.
The interior of the new Il Ponticello exudes a modern bistro vibe that gives a hint of sophistication just enough that’s not intimidating. Plus, the tufted chairs and couches made the place more inviting.
On weekdays, they offer unli Azzuri and Jack Daniels by the glass for only Php 490.
Minestrone Soup
Crunchy vegetables immersed on hot flavourful soup stock. Nuff’ said.
The Amatreciana
I’m sure my kids would love the Amatreciana, it having the right amount of sour tomato base sauce. My kids are suckers for anything pasta and noodles, so this is something they’d dig in.
The Vongole
The Vongole topped with sliced zucchini was filling and savoury without the overpowering flavor of the clams. I think their pasta dishes are good for sharing, so best to order two different kinds for you & your date to try and appreciate. Naks, medyo rhyming. 😉
The Porchetta
This dish is rave worthy! Crispy and tender pork paired with greens on the side. Add a bit of that gravy sauce and you’d want extra rice. Yes, please!
Il Ponticello’s signature drinks: Ponti Spritz, Azzurri & Sneaky Beach aka The Great Beauty. I love how these cocktail mix were unusually interesting, something that you can order again and again just because its good. Best to order the Azzurri on weekdays happy hour, remember its unlimited!
What’s Ponti without wine?
The SoMoms enjoyed the cozy ambiance over delicious food while catching up on each others lives. Isn’t it obvious in our smiles?
We truly felt extra special as dessert was served on a glass platter.A sample of their mouth watering sweets to end a sumptuous meal. Clockwise: Tiramisu, Pudding with vanilla ice cream and cheesecake panna cotta. All are equally delicious, but my favorite was the Tiramisu!
Walk up the nostalgic stairs into hang-out heaven.
Sink into hug-me-all-night lounge seats and revel in DJ-spinning beats. Dig in and graze through Ponti’s latest Italian greats – Crema di Tartufo pasta, Five-cheese pizza, Spicy Pork Belly Arrabiata and the signature White Pizza – Gorgonzola cream with Parma Ham and Arugula. End the treat with rave-worthy Cheesecake Panna Cotta, as-authentic-as-you-can-get Tiramisu, and must-try Vesuvius Budino chocolate lava cake. Buzz up the rest of the night with fun, fresh cocktails or dizzy yourself with our edited selection of wines and spirits. Take it how you want it, it’s always a good time.
Great nights out start at Il Ponticello. Crave-worthy Italian bites. Buzzin’ cocktails. DJs. House. EDM. Good vibes. Hang out. #alwaysagoodtime #newponti we’ll definitely come back! 🙂
