Burger is one of the food that I cannot resist. While some think that all burgers are alike, I strongly beg to differ. There are only a few restaurants that serve awesome burgers, so much so that I can’t remember raving about anything burger related online. But now that I’ve discovered Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, I’m adding another burger joint in my not-so-long-list of favourites.
Teddy’s Bigger Burgers was established in 1998 by Ted Tsakiris and Rich Stula. It is Hawaii’s #1 burger chain and was awarded multiple times as the best burger in Hawaii and recently in Seattle. It’s got locations across Hawaii and the mainland U.S. Lucky for us, they’re now here in the Philippines and we’re is Teddy’s 2nd international location, following Japan.
Last month, we went to Teddy’s Bigger Burgers Shangri-La Plaza mall as we were invited by one of the owners, Sheryl Laudico, to experience Hawaai’s famous big burgers.
“If BIGGER isn’t better, then why am I popular?” Bigger better-er (heehee) lang ang peg! Hindi ako na-inform na palakihan pala ang labanan! 😀
Feel na feel ko ang Hawaii Five O vibe with Teddy’s Bigger Burgers interior.
For someone who loves burger, I always stick to the usual- cheeseburger and BLT. So when I was offered more than a handful of choices at Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, I froze. I honestly don’t know what to order because I was overwhelmed with options!
It debuts the Great Kahuna line, a new set of burgers to cater to a wider range of appetites. Great Kahuna starts at P158. The burger line features a 1/4 lb burgers made of Teddy’s 100% USDA Ground Chuck Patty, featuring playful topping combinations that will surely tickle the most discriminating tastebuds.
Among the burgers in the Great Kahuna line are: Classic (lettuce and special sauce); Hau’Oli (cheddar cheese, lettuce and special sauce); Iki’Lua (teriyaki sauce, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms, lettuce and special sauce); Lau’ Ai (grilled summer vegetables with hummus); and Kukaelio (portobello mushroom stuffed with cream cheese, onions, garlic and bacon bits).
The menu is not limited to burgers alone, they also serve salad, fries, sandwiches and kids’ meal too. For the hearty eaters, Teddy’s offers its famous range of “bigger” burgers with specialty toppings in 5 oz, 7 oz, 9 oz and Monster Double options.
Burger size selection available at Teddy’s. If you can’t have enough of that juicy grilled burger, go ahead and get the Biggest at 9 oz.
Another thing I like about Teddy’s Bigger Burger is they serve your burger just the way you like it. Medium well for me please!
While we’re waiting for our food, lil’ Ms. GJG was busy coloring.
Cheesy Bacon Fries at P129.
Corn Dog (comes with a drink) Meal at P195.
Iki’Lua Burger P248 (add P109 for fries and drink). Sheryl suggested I add peanut butter to it. At first I was a bit apprehensive, given I’m not really a PB kind of person but since the owner suggested it & I trust her taste, I gave it a shot & added P35 for it.
Kailua Burger with peanut butter. My verdict? It was surprisingly good. I never thought about adding peanut butter to my burger but Teddy’s grilled burger is meaty & juicy that adding pb makes it even more flavourful.
Bacon Me Crazy P268. This burger has proven why I love burger so much. The marriage of juicy grilled burger & crunchy bacon is something that I really love! Not to mention, the salty creamy cheese and truffle honey sauce makes it sweet, salty & delicious! I wonder what this would taste like if I add peanut butter to it? Maybe I’ll try it next time.
When dinning at Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, prepare to shell out about P350 per person for a 5 oz. patty burger meal. You can also customise your burger according to your preference by choosing a bun (wheat, potato or lettuce wrap), adding burger toppings and special sauces. The happy campers at Teddy’s Bigger Burger. Obviously, we loved our first-time experience as we’re all smiles. 😀 Thanks again Sheryl for having us, we’ll definitely be back!
