Yesterday was one of the most terrifying moments I’ve encountered with a typhoon. The only disadvantage living in a condominium is when a storm hits, you feel like you’re caught right in the middle of it. We clearly heard the howling of the wind while it continuously banged the glass windows and door of our apartment. Kinda like those scenes from a horror movie where its a scary stormy night. Anxiety attacked kicked in when a transformer from across the street exploded, a big bang sent flashing lights across our apartment, which shortly prompted the power cut off.
Anyway, now that Typhoon Glenda has left PAR (Philippine Area of Responsibility), everything is now almost back to normal. To start anew and welcome a beautiful day, literally after the storm, here’s an outfit post that evokes a subtle hint that we all should take it easy as we ease our way to regular programming.
I am an advocate of easy dressing. As what Coco Chanel once said “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance”. Most fellow moms would ask me how I still manage to dress up, (especially during the time where I had no maid nor yaya) look good and exude a vibrant vibe. My not-so-secret-secret: when you’re passionate about something, it naturally shows even if you don’t put an extra effort to it.
I like dressing up. It’s who I am and its something that I’m naturally good at. But its not something innate as I’ve developed my personal style over time and I’ve been through almost all fashion phases where I follow trends because its the IN thing to do.
When dressing up, take it easy. Go through your closet wardrobe and take cue from there. More than the clothes, it’s really the person wearing it. So make sure that you like what you wear and that you’re comfortable wearing it because it would truly show.
A fail-proof way to start distinguishing your personal style from the fashion trends is to stick with the basics. A white top and jeans is a good way to prove your style. Edit and pair it with the shoes & accessories you prefer. Don’t be too pressured though because there isn’t any wrong or right way of editing a look. Personal style is an elusive beast at best, so own it.
I feel most beautiful when I don something that fits me best but currently, I’m loving wearing tad bit loose clothes. Lakas maka-Victoria Beckham when she donned a billowy tent dress.
I didn’t realize I have long hair na! I’m suddenly itching to have it cut. Yay or nay?
A pop of color is always refreshing. If you’re not into bright lipstick shades like I am, opt for bright accessories to compliment a simple look.
I forego my skinny jeans for this look as I wanted to test if I could pull off straight jeans, surprised that I could.
I’ll forever be biased to anything royal blue.
