Here’s the last post for the style series I made with Kelly of The Traveling Boots. Today, we give importance to the ever reliable black jeans. Just like the other four staple pieces we showcased during the previous style series, one must own and invest on a good pair of black jeans. Its so versatile you can wear it on a full day of work or on a relaxing night out.
A great fitting jeans deserves a beautiful top to go with it. It is also equally right to wear it with a stunning pair of heels. This outfit took me on a day full of meetings and errands to a night of dinner with my family. In fairness, I managed to contain the messy bessy in me and didn’t ruin my white top. Yes, I am one of those clumsy women who for the love of God always mess up their white outfit. Magnet yata ako ng stains!
I like wearing skinny fit, straight jeans because I feel the most comfortable in them. I don’t like it too skinny as it tends to show my masculine legs. I say when you find the perfect pair of jeans, get it in all available colors! Heehee. A friend of mine once said “Ang jeans, parang tao lang, may isang perfect (fit) that’s meant for you.” Naks. Emoterong frog lang?! But it’s some kinda true. I rarely buy jeans online, unless I am consistent with the brand’s size. It’s hard to know kasi if the fit is right eh even though the measurements are given.
Most jeans tend to be too long for me, so I resort to having them altered. But I make sure the length sits just below the ankle so I can fold them up or wear them with heels.
The number one cardinal rule when wearing anything skin-tight is to wear seamless underwear to avoid VPL (visible panty line). It is equally important to invest on good quality undergarments as much as investing on staple clothing pieces.
To know if a good pair of (skinny straight) jeans fits you, always look behind to see. If you feel comfortable and you’re not constricted to sit nor walk, then the pair is a keeper. If you’ve found that perfect butt-lifting pair, wear a top that shows it off. Sayang naman when you look and feel so confident in that particular pair only to be covered di ba? I also love showing off this stunning white top. It’s one of the few whites I have because like many women, I feel really sluggish and fat wearing white, but this is obviously an exemption.
Here’s how Kelly and I wore our black jeans.
Love how our personalities shine with our chosen look but still, we look cohesive together.
