For the first time in almost five years that Mr. GJG & I have become parents, we went on a staycation at Sofitel’s Club Millesime by ourselves. For those who know us, this is something that we never thought we could ever do unless our children are old enough to manage not being around us, mostly during bed time. But thankfully, I have wonderful in-laws (special shout out to Tita Kim!) who gladly watched over our kids as we took this opportunity to reconnect with each other and enjoy the luxury that is Sofitel Manila.
We were greeted with this sumptuous spread the moment we entered our room.
What’s so special about the 10th floor of Sofitel Manila? It’s where Club Millesime is located. Our room insignificantly differs from the normal room we usually stay at in Sofitel, interior wise. Except that it gave a more old-fashioned attractiveness greatly inspired by French culture.
Enjoy a life magnifique when you stay at Sofitel Philippine Plaza’s Luxury Room Club Millésime. Plush, modern interiors in vibrant, earthen hues are reminiscent of autumn in France with splashes of burnt oranges and olive greens. Wood and tile marry in a symphonic blend of old and new, and spacious private balconies offer bay and city views unrivaled in Manila. Pure relaxation and rejuvenation come with the finest luxuries on offer, exclusive to guests at the Club Millésime floor.
Luxurious indeed as Lanvin is Sofitel’s chosen brand for toiletries.
Club Millesime has a separate bath tub and shower. My much needed “me time” in the bathroom has been long overdue, (I think most mommas would know this) so I took advantage and soaked until my skin started to rimple.
The lovely view from our room’s balcony. I could never get tired admiring the bay view of Sofitel Manila.
After checking-in and a quick look-over of our room, we proceeded to Vietura to enjoy an hour of beauty & wellness for both Mr. GJG & I.
We both tried Resolift- a non-invasive treatment that can help tighten one’s skin and give that lift feeling after. At first, Mr. GJG was a bit apprehensive trying Resolift, in fact, he was hesitant to go down to Vietura for he feels intimidated by the lifestyle & wellness centre. Soon after, he was convinced by Ms. Nanette (our Vietura consultant) on how relaxing and effective Resolift is, so he gave in.
I also had a collagen facial since my skin is reacting really badly with the bipolar weather. While waiting for my collagen mask to do its magic, I got nothing else to do but take a selfie. Heehee.
Pardon the puffy eyes and weird smiley fez. That’s me after my relaxing treatment. I did doze off after a few minutes while doing the Resolift.
And because I couldn’t do full on make up after my facial, I opted to just go with an eyeliner and red lipstick for our date night at Spiral.
When in Sofitel, you MUST eat at Spiral! Here’s round 1 of 987654321 rounds we had. 😉
We couldn’t resist the delicious foie gras that is only served at Spiral during dinner.
There’s always room for dessert! Here’s my first round of sweets.
Our pa-sweet smiles were our look of satisfaction after eating for three hours!
As if dinner wasn’t enough that I had to munch on these delicious strawberries while going through MyBed pillow menu.
We got to choose additional pillows that would help us enhance our magnifique stay at Sofitel. We requested for Reverie Douceur and Reverie Contact and let me tell you, having these additional pillows made our sleep comfort level at its maximum. We slept like a baby! That’s the thing about sleeping in Sofitel, we always love how soft, relaxing and dreamy their beds are. It makes us wish we have their mattress, sheets and pillows at home but that’ll take some of the fun in staycationing in Sofitel now wouldn’t it?
After our good slumber, we woke up early to workout at So Fit. For the many times we’ve been staying at Sofitel, this is the very first time we went to the gym. Being fit and healthy indeed is a lifestyle and we’re determined to prioritize our health and wellness for our family.
Get in shape at So Fit, Sofitel’s health and fitness center. So Fit provides holistic, up-to-the-minute wellness programs with the finest cardio machines from Life Fitness. Free weights and the state-of-the-art training machine, Kinesis, are likewise available.
Membership packages are designed to meet clients’ unique requirements, and So Fit’s fitness experts are on hand daily to help address health and fitness concerns. Its open daily from 6 am to 12 midnight.
Aside from the usual machines, they also have Kinesis.
Weights, dumbbells and kettle bells.
They have a studio too for classes such as Zumba, boxing and yoga. Mr. GJG & I tried yoga & we learned a yoga exercise that mimics sprinting. We never thought slow movements and deep breathing can actually have the same effect as running a mile or sprinting for minutes. Thanks Teacher Arianne for the 60-minute yoga that made our mind & body in sync.
After our yoga session, we made use of the machines. Because I don’t really run and seldom use treadmill, (blaming vertigo & asthma for this) I’m sticking to my favourites: biking & elliptical.
I didn’t bring my resistance band with me but it was a good thing as I was able to try Kinesis for the first time.
My verdict? OMG. I want a Kinesis set at home. The adjustable weight makes the resistance of the cords suitable depending on your preference making it much more challenging, letting you feel the burn as you pull up, down or sideways. I wish we had this at our apartment’s gym as its proven to tone one’s muscle.
Of course, one of the main reasons why I love working out (even though I don’t think I’m that good at it) is so I can eat whatever I want to eat. Immediately after our workout, we headed straight to Spiral for our breakfast. I have to say, Sofitel has the best breakfast buffet we’ve ever had. Too bad I wasn’t able to try their taho as it was sold out. Yes, taho talaga yung priority even when in a 5 star hotel!
It was almost lunch when we finished our breakfast, so technically its brunch. We went back to our room to freshen up as we wait for our Le Spa appointment but due to conflict in schedule, we had to reschedule our appointment to another day. Our beauty staycation being child-free prompted us to just enjoy our time together. We decided to take it easy and watch a good movie, ate some more and took a nap until we’re ready to check out.
Here’s Mr. GJG browsing while I was checking out in the Club Millesime Lounge.

Hi Liz!
It was certainly a relaxing staycation but it made me miss my kids. Not doing anything in between made me a little bit paranoid! I was so used to multitasking that I’ve forgotten how it feels to relax & do absolutely nothing. ☺️
